During your time here, you’ll have the chance to observe some of the orangutans here at rainforest feeding stations, and – provided it’s open when you visit – the on-site nursery. With over 70 orangutans living freely in the rainforest reserve here alongside approximately 25 orphaned orangutans in the nursery, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to admire these incredible creatures while visiting.

Located on the edge of the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, the BSBCC is home to over 40 rescued ex-captive sun bears, all of which have the freedom to roam protected forest enclosures designed to offer them a natural environment better suited to their rehabilitation. This region is also home to orangutans, meaning you'll have an opportunity to spot these remarkable primates in their natural habitat, too. Gomantong Caves is also known as one of the region's best places to harvest edible bird's nests, which are often used to make bird's nest soup.
