We had the best of times and met some wonderful people. We had no complaints about the ship which the staff worked hard to keep spotlessly clean. Our restaurant staff were amazing: Jo our wine waiter, our severs who were efficient friendly and spoiled us rotten. Then Sunny who cared for our cabin and kept it spotless and then the young man on Sunset Deck who's name was something like Eday, who remembered exactly what we needed when it came to our breakfast coffee without prompting. Cruise ports were interested and delightful, but a couple were a little too short a stay to see everything. We also appreciate the captain's necessity to stay in the lovely Kogashima for two nights to protect the vessel, guests and crew from the Typhoon approaching Shimizu. We still think the cruise tours are far too expensive and arranged our own with local outside agencies or by simply taking local transport or the metro systems. Also, having to pay for a gym class also proved expensive. Entertainment in the Theatre was exceptional as were the other acts who entertained guests in the various bars. We were in Group 5, Elite. We signed up to the book the next cruise offer onboard and will look forward to arranging another 'bucket list' trip in the near future.

There are three dining options with Celebrity Cruises; Celebrity Select Dining, Eary, Late and Anytime. Guests who opt to dine on the early or late sitting (6:30pm-8:30pm) will be seated with the same guests on the same table and with the same waiting staff. Thos who wish to dine on the Anytime option will have more flexibility and can choose their dining time (anytime between 6pm and 9:30pm).

Celebrity Cruises offers a range of dietary accommodations, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Passengers can notify the cruise line in advance to enjoy their cruise with personalised dining experiences aligned with their dietary requirements.

The maximum total weight per guest is 90kg, apart from the Xpedition class ships in the Galapagos. Please be aware that airlines have their own luggage restrictions and rules to comply with before and after your time onboard.

Celebrity Cruises promotes a smart-casual dress code for most evenings. Formal nights offer a chance to dress elegantly with evening gowns and tuxedos as an option. The cruise line's website provides specific details about the dress code to help passengers prepare accordingly.

Iglu Cruise has a team in place to provide necessary assistance to make your holiday run smoothly. If anyone in your party requires medical or mobility assistance, notify your Cruise Specialist at the time of booking or as soon as possible if circumstances change after booking. The Special Assistance Team will email a form 6-8 weeks before departure, which must be completed and returned.

Travel requirements

All passengers (including all children), should hold their own full 10-year (5 years for children) British Citizen (GBR) passport. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months past your expected return date to the UK, as this is often a criteria for entry to certain countries.

Celebrity Cruises strongly recommends that all guests consider purchasing travel insurance to protect themselves against unexpected events that could disrupt their travel plans, such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, baggage loss, or travel delays.
