The city was founded by the Phoenicians in around the 8th century BC, and was later colonized by different populations due to its strategic position on the Mediterranean. This was our 36th cruise. Very nice ship. Good food, excursions expensive. No two cocktails of the same type tasted the same and often looked different. Which is a shame given the extra $8.40 you pay over the $12 dollar allowance as part of the classic drinks package. We had two nights at the Mercente Palace in Rome. Good, centrally located hotel but the so-called deluxe room was small, with dirty sealant in the bathroom.

We have just returned from 11nights around Europe. It’s the biggest cruise ship we have been on so we were a little apprehensive. The ship is wonderful, plenty of space for all and we never felt crowded or rushed. The attention to detail is exceptional and the staff wonderful. The food is good everywhere. From the simple pizza to the restaurants
