Ambition Reviews
View Cruise DealsThe crew on board the ambition were all very good and paid attention to likes and dislikes. Cocktails were well made and delicious. Food was good , but wished there was more variety ie I would have liked to see a popular Indian or Chinese dish for eg. In the Borough Market. More fruit variety ie grapes , oranges. Cabins were very clean. My only downside was we had to pay £76 each for a bus which traveled for 45 mins to and from a town, there was no transport put on for passengers and the port destination was a quarry, nothing there. Theatre shows were excellent .
2nd time we have used Ambassador from Dundee, as well as being available from our local area but also the fantastic 2 cruises we have now experienced with them we will definitely be using them again.
Great all round cruise, going to Iceland next.
Had an amazing time from start to finish. First time on ambition and definitely wish to return. Had an inside cabin which was quiet and sufficient, much more space than we were expecting. All crew on board were amazing. Fabulous waiters in a Buckingham and all bar staff were attentive at all times. As for the performers, what can I say. Definitely west end performances. Fabulous singers and dancers absolutely fabulous. We had such an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the sea days. Loved going to the choir was brilliant and so much enjoyed singing. Amazing time had throughout. Loved Honfleur and enjoyed the windmills and Edam trip very much.
My friend and I had a lovely time on Ambition and would recommend the ship and Ambassador Cruise Line.
Lots of things about the cruise were fantastic. The ship itself, the food, the staff…. . all brilliant. The entertainment was ok- cheesy but fine. Lots of activities on board to fill time if needed. Our itinerary was messed about by the weather and we couldn’t dock at Lerwick which was THE reason we chose the cruise in the first place. That wasn’t Ambassador’s Fault but it was a massive disappointment. The only other thing I’d mention is tiny but really bugged me. I eanted really special night to celebrate a birthday so booked up in the Under the Stars restaurant only to be really disappointed when it was that menu ( which was great food) but in the Italian restaurant on patio furniture on a piece of astroturf. I mention it because it was a massive blunder and should be sorted asap. But I relatively small issue but bugged me as I said. Generally though we thought it was great and good value.

Embarkation at Liverpool, for us, was quick and easy, and the cruise to Iceland was thoroughly enjoyable. The captain kept everyone well informed throughout the journey. Ambition isn’t the most modern or luxurious ship, but she has most of the essentials and a genuinely friendly crew. The cruise itself was excellent, though the ship would definitely benefit from some modern updates. Loved the nostalgic Baked Alaska night!
My main issues were: There wasn't a fridge in the room as sold which was annoying as wanted to keep medication chilled in there. Also booked a once in a lifetime puffin excursion and the ship was hours late in port so waste £350. Pros: Clean ship & friendly staff. good food on offer - you can eat none stop except late night unless pay. . . would be good if there were crisps, sandwiches & biscuits etc you could take back to room late night. They really need to improve the pizza though which is a shame. Also would be cool if they could add a proper cafe style venue not just endless bars. i didn't bother much with on ship entertainment as was doing trip to explore iceland & rest & eat on board.
Our first Cruise and enjoyed overall Food, Activities, Staff all Great Destinations a bit disappointing due to various reasons - unable to dock at Lerwick, accessibility/destinations lacking in facilities
