An active volcano dominating the stunning natural landscape of Lombok, Mount Rinjani is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia and provides a sensational backdrop for some of the incredible hiking routes on this island. Lembar, Lombok is the perfect launching point for some of the most unique snorkelling experiences in the world. Heading out to the Gili Islands, you’ll have the chance to see sunken scooters, a vibrant coral reef, huge sea turtles, and Nest – an unusual underwater sculpture by Jason deCaires Taylor, which depicts 48 life-size human figures in a circle.
