On deck facilities also excellent - swimming pool area well kept, sports facilities - pickleball court, crazy golf, tabletennis areas and the running/walking track all very good. Only down side was in the indoor gym area where the exercise studio was too small for the number of passengers catered for (1400). It could only take a maximum of 7 - 8 people comfortably as the spin cycles take up a fair amount of room. To do yoga or pilates was extremely limiting.
Plenty of different dining opportunies in the various restaurants - again slightly disappointing that if you had not booked a slot early in the process (on-line after booking holiday) the only times available were from 8. 00 pm onwards, which is too late for the majority of the (elderly) people on board - however the buffet area was always a good option - and had dishes from, or similar to, the speciality restaurants.
Good variety of entertainments/ interests on board, I particularly liked the 'Lync' area where there were opportunities to learn how to get the best out of your telephones, I pads, computers - how to take good photos - understanding the technology etc. - good for a techno-phobe like me.
Evening entertainment excellent with good selection of acts.
All in all an excellent ship and I would recommend the Vista to anyone who enjoys cruising in luxury at a reasonable price.
Only problem I had - which had nothing to do with the ship - was with the transfer from the airport to the overnight hotel prior to boarding. I was taken to the wrong hotel and then had to find my own way to the correct hotel.Read More

Due to the late booking of this cruise we didn’t receive our luggage labels in advance of our sailing. This was not a problem and the porters dealt with this efficiently at the port. Apparently you need to book more than 75 days before the start of the cruise to receive their official tags.
I sincerely hope we get to sail on Oceania again! It has truly spoiled us and I feel it would be difficult to go back to the bigger ships now.Read More

DAY 20
12 Mar 2027
Time at Port: from 10 AM to 6:30 PM
If you’re looking to indulge in a slice of paradise during your cruise, this is where you’ll find it. Lembar is a primary port on Lombok, a lesser-known sister island to Bali in Indonesia. Home to stunning sandy beaches largely unimpacted by excessive tourism, colourful Indonesian cuisine full of flavour, and a laid-back atmosphere, spending time in Lombok is always rewarding. Here, you’ll find yourself with the chance to do everything from water sports like snorkelling and scuba diving to volcanic hiking routes and even the chance to visit an indigenous village – the best place to learn more about the local culture and history. You’re in for an unforgettable day when you stop in Lembar, Lombok, however you end up spending it.
Things to do in Lembar, Lombok:
Mount Rinjani
An active volcano dominating the stunning natural landscape of Lombok, Mount Rinjani is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia and provides a sensational backdrop for some of the incredible hiking routes on this island. Climbing to the summit of Rinjani itself can take a couple of days, and it’s far from easy, but you’ll be able to appreciate the majesty of this mountainous formation from wherever you are on the island – whether you’re exploring the incredible terrain by foot, or lounging on a sunny beach with refreshments in-hand.
Snorkelling
Lembar, Lombok is the perfect launching point for some of the most unique snorkelling experiences in the world. Heading out to the Gili Islands, you’ll have the chance to see sunken scooters, a vibrant coral reef, huge sea turtles, and Nest – an unusual underwater sculpture by Jason deCaires Taylor, which depicts 48 life-size human figures in a circle. A hauntingly beautiful sight, it really has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
Beleq Village
An impressive indigenous village on Lombok, Beleq is a great place to learn more about the Sasak Culture. Dating all the way back to the 14th century, with surprisingly few changes throughout the years, you’ll be able to immerse yourself fully in local life here; from traditional housing to artwork and cuisine, spending some time here will elevate your experience in Indonesia.
