Our first VV cruise but it probably won’t be our last. From our first hour onboard, exploring every the ship had to offer, to our last, it was a great experience. The ‘Happenings Cast’ were talented and fun, and the range of entertainment was excellent with some standout experiences in the Red Room, notably The Magnets, and smaller venues with performers such as the amazingly talented Flute Loops and Slam Allen. The ship was cleverly designed so nothing onboard ever felt crowded. The food was fantastic: from gorgeous ice cream with a great range of flavours, to the specialist dining venues and The Galley the variety and quality was outstanding. Not having a serve-yourself buffet / MDR made everything feel so much more appealing and safer as it massively reduced the risk of contamination. Our cabin was fabulous! We had a front corner larger-than-average Seaview cabin with lots of room to move about without getting in each other’s way. The shower was a very good size with a handheld and overhead choice. The tablet, from which room functions such as TV, lights and curtains could be operated, as well as Ship Eats, schedules etc was innovative. The fridge was a godsend as was the easy-to-control air conditioning. My only criticism was that the bed mattress was very hard and I didn’t realise we could have asked for a topper. The crew were lovely - our cabin steward Maria was so helpful and brought us extra hangers within minutes of asking. Our room was kept spotless and towels/water were replenished speedily. The pool deck was very popular but here we were disappointed that the main ‘swimming’ pool was tiny with a shallow paddle area each side - impossible to actually swim in, but that’s a tiny complaint compared with the abundance of positive experiences we had.

Second time on this ship and 4th cruise with Virgin, amazing as expected. Food is top tier, fantastic quality and the service from all staff is exceptional. Ship is spotless, favourite area is the dock house and their Opa hour in the afternoon. The wooden seats right at the back are horrendously uncomfortable and no one ever sits on them, so seems a waste of space. I wish there were a few more theatre shows, that’s all. Would return again with virgin voyages without hesitation purely because of the food quality and service.

Lovely ship, very nice crew, however they rave about the food but I didn’t think it was overly special, the problem is that there are no main restaurants with the exception of a very small galley that serves the same burgers every night, the concept of all their restaurants are main restaurants is true but they are not particularly big and if you haven’t booked weeks before you sail it’s touch and go to get in, luckily the pizza place is quite good , also the food is very bespoke and with the exception of the wake steak house wasn’t overly impressive, the pool is the next issue although Ariel pictures make it look like a standard ship pool it isn’t. Only the middle third is deep enough to submerged in the other two thirds are only ankle deep, the sun was a big draw for this cruise but there are no parasols so under 38c sun it is not overly crowded with a constant thumping music over the speakers ,the entertainment is very small , no large west end shows , the biggest event was bingo with the Diva drag queen , who was excellent entertainment and probably the star of the entertainment team. Having spoken to lots of fellow sailors the majority of return sailors haven’t sailed on any other cruise lines and they have nothing to compare, the other issue that all sailors were discussing is bar tabs , if you pre buy a drinks tab it’s a gamble if you have bought enough or too little, however if you buy £350 bar tabs and only spend £300 you loose the remainder , virgin will not credit or even hold it for future cruises, virgin appears to keep captain and crew away from the guests and I never saw anyone, I don’t even know the name of the captain where all other cruise lines I’ve travelled with have a big interaction and photo ops, tha adult only is a big draw and virgin does have a very big lgbtq + community, however the negatives did not stop me from having a great time and meeting a wide and varied bunch of people, and if you can get ahead of the pre booking concept and pre book all your entertainment, food , trips , gym sessions etc, etc weeks ahead then there is less chance of disappointment.

Enjoyed our cruise but wouldn't book Virgin again. I am older and found the passengers to be much younger than on traditional cruises. Entertainment was mediocre. I found the booking of restaurants annoying, 2 nights we ate in the galley as restaurants were fully booked

The very comfortable cruise ship. Plenty of room for chilling out on the decks during sea days. Plenty of free water, ice cream and soft drinks to keep everyone happy. Interesting locations for the port days. No so happy with the excursions as they were very poor for money compared with other companies we have cruised with. The cabin was lovely but had a rather small balcony to stretch on! The food was good in a couple of the specialist restaurants, but found the Galley lacking in variety of food and did very much lean towards the taste of the American guests. Finally the evening entertainment appeared to be rather limited in variety compared to other cruise companies, only one cabaret evening, but it was a good show. Not likely to use Virgin again.

This was our 2nd virgin cruise. Absolutely fantastic. We loved it. The shows were great. The food was amazing. And the drinks certainly hit the spot 😋 All our excursions went smoothly and were fantastic. We really enjoyed Monaco and Rome. The balcony cabin with the hammock is the best thing ever. The staff were great. And we couldn't fault any of the services provided. Wish we were on it for another week!

Just returned from a virgin cruise around France , Spain and Italy. Had a great holiday all in all. This was our 15 th cruise and food was definitely the best we have ever experienced. However, the hard metal chairs we had on our balcony did ruin our holiday as spending time together relaxing on our balcony is a huge part of why we love cruising . Additionally, the cost of , choice and poor quality of the alcoholic drinks was shameful considering the cost of the holiday.

Ship lovely and spacious compared to others. Staff all very polite and friendly. Hot drinks never seemed to be quite hot enough and no real choice of soft sugar free drinks unless you wanted Diet Coke. When something went wrong staff jumped through hoops to put it right for you. Food and choices were excellent but not necessarily available when ‘you’ wanted it. When you have been ashore in 30+ degrees and return to the ship you find it could be a few hours before the icecream parlour opens and only the basic drinks stations opened. Money put on Bar Tab…. Is just for alcohol and bar items. Not for spending in shops on the ship. The shops on board add 21% tax after advertised price which if from uk you have to claim back at the airports when you leave for home. You have to jump through hoops with passport details and email addresses. Then you find there is nowhere in the airport to do this. Also any unused Tab is non refundable. These little minor niggles took of the edge of what could have been the perfect holiday. But is something we would take into consideration if thinking of booking again.
