Things to do
Fort Napoléon
Fort Napoléon, a reconstructed 19th-century fort towering 400 feet above the Caribbean Sea, provides an intimate museum experience. It is widely recognised for having one of the most beautiful views in the Caribbean, which overlooks the Terre-de-Haut harbour and the surrounding islands. It has an exotic cactus garden, resident iguanas, and exhibits on local history, providing a combination of nature, history, and fantastic photo opportunities.
Beaches
Les Saintes beaches are exquisite, small coves with crystal-clear blue waters, beautiful sand, and green, hilly surroundings; they are frequently described as postcard-worthy. The most popular beach is Plage de Pompierre, which has quiet, shallow waves, white sand, and coconut trees, making it ideal for families and picnics. Pain de Sucre provides superb snorkelling with a diverse marine life and a stunning rocky setting.
Le Chameau
The Le Chameau trail is a challenging, steep, and spectacular 8-km journey that leads to the highest point (300 metres). It offers hikers amazing 360-degree views of the archipelago from the remnants of a 19th-century tower. The pathway is a well-marked, steep, concrete road restricted to traffic and offering partial shade, but there is also a steeper, rocky forest path that is frequently used for a more adventurous route. Due to the steepness and heat, it is classified as moderate to difficult.
