Our first cruise on one of the "big" ships. We were apprehensive at first but it turned out brilliant, the Cabin was bigger than we expected, very clean. The staff were amazing . All in all a very positive experience. Would definitely cruise with RC in the future. Only negatives were the Windjammer market place, it was always full and difficult to find a seat, but the food was excellent. Drinks were very expensive.

Overall, the cruise was a mixed experience. It didn’t seem to fully cater for the range of nationalities onboard, which made some of the activities and announcements feel limited in appeal. The entertainment was average at best, although the Silk Road show was a definite highlight and stood out for its quality and creativity.
The cruise director was noticeably absent compared to other cruises I’ve been on, where they usually play a more visible and engaging role. Excursions were also quite disappointing, overpriced for what was offered and not really worth the cost considering what we actually saw.
The saving grace of the trip was the incredible staff. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and looked after. Their professionalism and warmth truly made the difference.

After all the problems we had trying to get a visa for China and we can say it's still a very grey area. We paid £450 at the end of the day a 242 hour visa with the help from RCCL you do not need to waste your money.
The Spectrum of the Seas is very nice indeed, the staff are absolutely wonderful. The food and drink was excellent too. The cabin was very nice and was kept very clean. The first stop in Japan was a complete waste of time in our opinion!
We stopped at Maizuru and had to pay $50 for the both of us for a shuttle bus, the ride took around ten minutes each way. There was absolutely nothing to do or see in the town, most of the shops were shut too. Niigata was a lot busier and had lots of shops to look around and the shuttle bus was a little cheaper! Hakodate was so much more interesting, shops and the view from off the top of mount Hakodate
was brilliant and this tim the shuttle bus was free.

Although the cruise itself was pleasant enough, I found all the added expenses far too excessive.
On Royal Caribbean cruises, dining options include traditional dining with set times (around 6:00 PM for early and 8:00 PM for late), flexible My Time Dining (usually 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM), specialty restaurants with variable reservation-based times, and extended hours for buffet and casual dining venues to accommodate varied schedules. Keep in mind that specifics can change, so check the cruise line's website or contact customer service for the latest information.
Royal Caribbean strives to accommodate various dietary requirements for their guests. They offer a range of dining options to cater to different dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other specific dietary restrictions. When making a reservation or prior to your cruise, it's recommended to inform Royal Caribbean of your dietary requirements so they can make the necessary arrangements and provide you with suitable meal options. Their main dining rooms, specialty restaurants, and buffet areas often have options that cater to different dietary preferences.
Generally, Royal Caribbean guests have a luggage allowance comprising checked and carry-on bags. Checked bags usually have a weight limit of around 50 pounds or 23 kilograms each, with varying allowed quantities. Carry-on bags can include personal items, medications, and valuables, and are typically brought to staterooms. Special items like pushchairs and medical equipment might be allowed. Baggage policies can change, so it's advisable to refer to Royal Caribbean's official website.
Royal Caribbean features a versatile "Wear What You Want" approach for most of its cruises. While formal wear is optional, smart-casual attire is common for evenings. The cruise line encourages self-expression in attire while ensuring respectful dressing in public areas.
Iglu Cruise has a team in place to provide necessary assistance to make your holiday run smoothly. If anyone in your party requires medical or mobility assistance, notify your Cruise Specialist at the time of booking or as soon as possible if circumstances change after booking. The Special Assistance Team will email a form 6-8 weeks before departure, which must be completed and returned.
Travel Requirements
All passengers (including all children), should hold their own full 10-year (5 years for children) British Citizen (GBR) passport. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months past your expected return date to the UK, as this is often a criteria for entry to certain countries.
Royal Caribbean strongly recommends that all guests consider purchasing travel insurance to protect themselves against unexpected events that could disrupt their travel plans, such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, baggage loss, or travel delays.

Takachiho Gorge is a breathtaking, narrow ravine characterised by sheer, columnar basalt walls and the emerald-green Gokase River. It is notable for the 17m-high Manai Falls, which cascade into the river, creating a magical, serene atmosphere, and are sometimes referred to as Japan's top natural marvel. The most popular activity is rowing down the river immediately underneath the waterfalls. It is recommended to book in advance. If you are unable to rent a boat, there is a paved 1km trail that passes along the top of the gorge, providing magnificent views from three separate bridges. The region is peaceful and is frequently regarded as spiritually significant, especially when combined with a visit to the nearby Takachiho Shrine.

It is well-known for its breathtaking coastal vistas, the distinctive "undama" pebble-throwing game, and the traditions surrounding the birth of Japan's first emperor.
Aoshima Island
Aoshima Island is a small, tropical, and highly attractive island located around 20 minutes from Miyazaki. It is connected to the mainland by a bridge and is bordered by the "Devil's Washboard," a distinctive natural, linear rock pattern. Aoshima Shrine is located in the centre of the jungle-covered island and is famed for its gorgeous red torii gate that can be seen from the beach. It is also associated with matchmaking benefits.
