Named after the first president and founder of the National Geographic Society, Gardiner Hubbard, it’s a breathtaking glacier that’s surrounded by snow capped mountains and icebergs.

Whittier is a truly unique city like no other. Located around 60 miles from Anchorage, it has a population of 217 people, most of whom live in one building, Begich Towers, complete with a convenience shop, police station, clinic, church and even a school.
