Maritime Quarter
The Maritime Quarter (Sjökvarteret) is a thriving maritime center and traditional wooden boat-building district in Mariehamn. Located just a 10-minute walk from the city center in the eastern harbour, it allows visitors to witness traditional shipbuilding using age-old techniques, explore museums and learn about the region's rich naval history, and visit the Seafarers' Chapel, a wooden sanctuary built to honour those lost at sea.
Mariebad
Located on the eastern coastline of Mariehamn, Åland Islands, the Mariebad Bath House (Badhuset Mariebad) overlooks the sea bay of Slemmern, providing a relaxing Nordic experience. It has a partially outdoor heated pool, a sandy beach area for summer swimming in the Baltic Sea, and a jetty for cold winter swims. It features breathtaking sea views, saunas, and a wellness spa.
Lilla Holmen beach
Lilla Holmen is a lovely, family-friendly island park located within a short distance from Mariehamn's city center. It is connected to the mainland by footbridges and has a child-friendly, peaceful, sandy beach complete with changing rooms and a pier. Locally known as "Bird Island," it is noted for its colourful free-roaming peacocks, hens, and rabbits.
