A port city that acts as a fantastic gateway destination to Amsterdam, Ijmuiden has a lot more to offer than you might think. With wide sandy beaches either side of the port’s entrance, an impressive amount of green space beyond that, and opportunities to enjoy active activities in abundance – be that windsurfing, flyboarding, cycling, or even kite-flying – you’ll find more than enough recreation when you disembark here. Several interesting museums and an abundance of excellent eateries in Velsen, the city attached to Ijmuiden, mean those of you looking for a more relaxed visit will still be well catered for. It also takes less than an hour to get to Amsterdam from Ijmuiden, so there’s even more of the Netherlands to enjoy when you arrive here.

Other than the outward flight being cancelled
And losing a day from the holiday everything was great prima has a strange layout and had difficulty getting into popular venues unless you get there over an hour before the start, the staff in the restaurants we use were very good. I rated the activities as 2 but we actually never used them.

Our experience in Haven was 5 star.
We would not have liked not to be in Haven as we found the rest of the ship to be quite crowded. We were happy to enjoy reserved seating in the theatre but upset we could not even get in the other lounges( particularly disappointed to miss Syd Normans which had long queues and was full). The shows were exceptional. The dance troupe magnificent. Food in Haven, Bistro and Cagneys beyond compare. We found minor maintenance problems in the suite and around deck and hope the ship can stand the test of time. The crew were very efficient along with having time to be friendly, funny at times and even remembering our names.

Well run cruise on relatively new ship.
Staff pleasant polite and efficient
Good variety of good quality food
Some "cheesy" entertainment but theatre productions and Syd Normans Pour House excellent
Caters well for solo travellers.
Relaxed atmosphere.
Drinks and tours expensive .
Some of ports some distance from cites to visit
