Located on the north-eastern bank of the Rio de la Plata, Montevideo is the capital city of Uruguay and a modern metropolis with a difference. Boasting stunning European art deco-style architecture, a hangover from this region’s colonial past, Montevideo is home to an expansive beach promenade and a South American atmosphere to match. Here, you’ll find the Rambla, a riverfront avenue that’s one of the world’s longest continuous sidewalks – which just highlights how perfect Montevideo is if you’re looking to take a laid-back wander here. Beyond this, though, if you’re looking for a little more action, you’ll find a bustling marketplace in Mercado del Puerto, intriguing exhibitions in the Andes Museum and Museo El Juguetero (just two of the several incredible museums and galleries in Montevideo), and fantastic food everywhere you turn. With all the modern comforts of a capital city, but a relaxed atmosphere that lets you savour the little things, a visit to this metropolis is worth looking forward to.
Also known as Stanley, Port Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands and a charming destination to visit during cruises through the South Atlantic Ocean and beyond. Home to roughly 70% of the Falkland Islands’ population, Port Stanley is the place to be if you’re looking to immerse yourself in this archipelago’s unique culture. Without an indigenous population, you’ll find that much of the culture and cuisine in Port Stanley is an amalgamation of British culture and cuisine, with influences from nearby nations, such as Argentina. So, Port Stanley is often described as feeling somewhat similar to a small English or Scottish town – a home away from home, of sorts. However, although exploring the quaint city centre is a fantastic way to spend your time, Port Stanley is also a great starting point for adventures further inland and along the coast. With the chance to enjoy guided nature walks, wildlife spotting, and experiences that invite you to explore this island’s tumultuous history, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here – whether you’re looking to sit and enjoy a freshly-poured pint in one of the local pubs, spot some penguins in their natural habitat, or admire the stunning landscapes found here.

Candido Mendes Prison
Now abandoned, this prison was once home to some of Brazil’s worst – until it was closed in 1994. Reachable by following a walking trail from Vila de Dois Rois, this prison is the setting for a whole host of escapee stories – with one of the most famous being Escadinho, who escaped via helicopter!
Santos
DAY 6
24 Jan 2026
Time at Port: from 7 AM to 5 PM
If you’re looking for a quintessential Brazilian city experience, look no further than Santos – a municipality on the island of Sao Vicente with everything you could possibly need to enjoy everything this culture-rich nation has to offer. Home to one of the largest beachfront gardens in the world, seven separate beaches, a number of unique museums, and an abundance of excellent restaurants and bars, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the activities and amenities available during your visit. No matter however you want to spend your stay, Santos has you covered and you’re sure to remember your time here fondly.
Things to do in Santos:
Museo de Cafe
Once where the world’s coffee prices were dictated, this museum to the popular caffeinated beverage is an experience that takes you right from the cultivation of the coffee beans themselves to the consolidation of coffee as one of Brazil’s national symbols. Here, you’ll find a variety of permanent and temporary exhibitions, some of the rarest coffee beans in the country, and a chance to explore a Bidding Hall – where coffee auctions were held until as late as 1950 – and more Coffee-related items.
Memorial of Achievements
Situated in the Urbano Caldeira Stadium, this football-based museum is dedicated to showcasing the successes of Santos Futebol Clube and its stars – which includes some of the best players the beautiful game has ever seen, like Pele and Neymar. Even if you’re not a sports fan, this museum charts Brazil’s history on the global stage, highlighting all the ups and downs that come with being one of the best footballing nations in history.
Shrine of St. Anthony of Valongo
A small antique church in the heart of Santos, this magnificent structure is considered one of the finest examples of 18th century Baroque architecture in the city; while the original chapel was built in 1691, and the church itself was first built in 1640, the building we see today is adorned with tiled murals from the 1930s. With the church being partly demolished in 1859 to make room for the construction of the Santos-Jundiai railway line, the survival of the statue of Saint Anthony on the altar is considered a miracle – which, in turn, prevented the full demolition of the church.

With all the modern comforts of a capital city, but a relaxed atmosphere that lets you savour the little things, a visit to this metropolis is worth looking forward to.
Things to do in Montevideo:
Legislative Palace of Uruguay
A monumental example of neo-classical architecture in the heart of Montevideo, the Legislative Palace of Uruguay acts as the meeting place of the General Assembly of Uruguay, the seat of the legislative branch of the Uruguayan government, and a remarkable landmark to see when you visit. Built between 1904 and 1925, it was constructed to commemorate 100 years of Uruguayan independence.
Obelisk of Montevideo
Built in 1930 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Constitution of Uruguay as a homage to the original members of the General Assembly, this three-sided structure stretches 40 metres up and is flanked by three bronze structures representing Law, Liberty, and Force. In 1983, it was the site of Rio de Libertad – the nation’s largest demonstration ever, demanding an end to the civil-military dictatorship in place at the time.
Palacio Salvo
Standing 95 metres tall, this stunning structure takes advantage of eclectic architectural designs to deliver one of the most remarkable buildings in Montevideo. Built with the intention of being a hotel in 1928, it’s now a mixture of private residences and office spaces – though tours of the building are available at select times during the day.

One of the most diverse cities in the Americas, with an intriguing colonial history to uncover and a bright future ahead, Buenos Aires is certain to become an instant favourite among the highlights of any South American adventure.
Things to do in Buenos Aires - Overnight onboard:
Teatro Colón
Among the best opera houses in the world, Teatro Colón is a historic theatre venue in the heart of Buenos Aires, boasting stunning exterior architecture, impressive interior designs, and rooms boasting the best acoustics for operas and the second-best acoustics for music concerts in the world. To say seeing a show here is an incredible experience would be an understatement; it would be one of the best shows in the world. Although, if you don’t have time for that, the building itself is still worth taking the time to admire.
El Caminito
Among the most vibrant areas of Buenos Aires, El Caminito is touristy for all the right reasons and a must-visit area of Argentina’s capital. Found within La Boca, a historically working-class neighbourhood in the heart of the city, you’ll be met with brightly-coloured buildings, lively street performers, and fascinating art museums when you visit here. Port Stanley, Falkland Islands
DAY 14
01 Feb 2026
Time at Port: from 10 AM to 6 PM
Things to do in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands:
Falkland Islands Museum
Located in the historic dockyard of Port Stanley, the Falkland Islands Museum boasts a comprehensive collection of artefacts and historic items that explore the natural and cultural history of this archipelago. If you want to know more about the Falkland Islands, this is one of the best places in the world to spend some time. You’ll also find an interactive room that explores the stories of Falkland Islands residents during the Falklands War in 1982, highlighting the real impact of this conflict, as well as an area dedicated to the region’s maritime history.
Government House
Built in 1845, Government House is the home of the Falkland Islands’ governors and one of the most important landmarks in Port Stanley. Alongside being somewhere where Ernest Shackleton stayed during his famous Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in the 1910s, and home to one of the world’s southernmost grape vines, Government House was also the site of a major battle during the 1982 invasion of the Falkland Islands, an event that kicked off the Falklands War, and where the surrender was ultimately issued.
Yorke Bay
Roughly four miles northeast of Port Stanley, Yorke Bay is a stunning destination to visit when spending some time in the Falkland Islands’ capital. Known internationally as a breeding ground for Magellanic penguins, a threatened species also found along the coast of Argentina and Chile, this is a fantastic place to see these incredible birds in their natural habitat. Interestingly, much of this area serves as an unplanned wildlife refuge, with Yorke Bay among several areas of coastline that were heavily mined during the Falklands War, making them unsafe for visitors. The island is free of landmines now, though, and you’ll be able to observe the wildlife and admire the stunning scenery of Yorke Bay from a safe distance.

Antarctic Peninsula - Cruising
DAY 16-18
03 Feb 2026
Time at Port: TBD
During this part of your Antarctic adventure, you’ll be cruising around the Antarctic Peninsula. This area of the continent is part of the larger peninsula of West Antarctica, from Cape Adams to a point on the mainland that lies just south of the Eklund Islands. Primarily covered by a thick ice sheet, this peninsula is made up of a string of bedrock islands divided by deep channels considerably below sea level. While cruising through this region, you’ll have the chance to admire some staggering icy landscapes alongside an interesting variety of wildlife, thanks to the fact that this is among the more temperate areas of the continent’s coastline. Several species of penguin, seal, and whale call this area home, alongside a variety of seabirds. So, while specific sightings can vary and are often dependent on the current weather conditions, you can rest assured knowing that there will be plenty to admire while cruising the Antarctic Peninsula.
Antarctic Peninsula - Cruising:
Penguins
While cruising the Antarctic Peninsula, you’ll have the opportunity to spot several species of penguin in their natural habitat. The species of penguin that can be found here, particularly around the tip of the peninsula itself, include the chinstrap penguin, emperor penguin, gentoo penguin, and Adélie penguin. The specific sightings you enjoy, though, will vary depending on the current weather conditions and the time of year you’re exploring Antarctica.
Whales
These magnificent mammals are among the most incredible sights you can see while cruising the Antarctic Peninsula, and the waters surrounding this remarkable part of Antarctica are home to several species of whale, including the Antarctic minke whale, dwarf minke whale, sei whale, and killer whale. The specific sightings you enjoy, though, will vary depending on the current weather conditions and the time of year you’re exploring Antarctica.
Seals
Several species of seal can be spotted while cruising around the Antarctic Peninsula, including the leopard seal, Weddell seal, crabeater seal, and the huge southern elephant seal. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that the specific sightings you enjoy will vary depending on the current weather conditions and the time of year you’re exploring Antarctica.
Drake Passage - Cruising
DAY 19
06 Feb 2026
Time at Port: TBD
The Drake Passage is an iconic body of water between the southern tip of South America and Antarctica, connecting parts of the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean. Despite this stretch of water being discovered by Spanish navigator Francisco de Hoces in 1525, the passage is named after Sir Francis Drake, an English explorer who utilised this body of water during his Raiding Expedition in the mid-16th century. While rough seas are something you’ll come across quite frequently when cruising the Drake Passage, you can rest assured knowing that the modern expedition-style ships you’ll be sailing on are well-equipped to deal with any troublesome weather. In 2019, a team of six explorers were actually able to row across the entirety of the Drake Passage; though, while you’re unlikely to see anyone rowing while you’re cruising, you will have the chance to observe a variety of seabirds, whales, and dolphins – all of which are often spotted by sailors crossing the Drake Passage. With this journey often being a two-day event, you’ll also have plenty of time to enjoy all the excellent amenities available onboard your cruise ship – which is definitely a win-win!
Drake Passage - Cruising:
Seabirds
When the weather is agreeable, the Drake Passage is a hotspot for spotting seabirds, particularly species of albatross and petrel – both of which are among the largest species of flying birds in the world, with petrels known particularly for their wide wingspan. While the sightings you’re able to enjoy will vary, and there’s no guarantee when it comes to which species of seabird you’ll be able to spot, the Drake Passage provides you with a fantastic opportunity to see these birds hunting; albatross, in particular, are known to hunt both during the day and at night.
Whales
Cruising the Drake Passage is a fantastic opportunity to see several species of whale in the wild, with finback whales, sei whales, humpback whales, sperm whales, and blue whales all among the species that have been spotted in this body of water before. Although, it’s important to keep in mind that there’s no guarantees when it comes to the wildlife sightings you’ll have the chance to enjoy while onboard, and the success of whale-watching in the Drake Passage can vary depending on things like the weather conditions and the time of year you’re travelling.
Dolphins
When cruising the Drake Passage, you may be able to spot pods of dolphins from your cruise ship. While there’s no guarantee, as sightings can be unpredictable and are affected by the weather and the time of year you’re travelling, hourglass dolphin and southern right whale dolphin are among the aquatic mammals that have been spotted in this body of water before.
Ushuaia
DAY 20
07 Feb 2026
Time at Port: from 7 AM to 5 PM
Nicknamed the “End of the World”, Ushuaia is a charming windswept city on the southernmost tip of South America and an important port of call for cruise adventures to Antarctica. In the heart of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, this port is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, boasting sensational sightseeing opportunities for everyone who travels here. From vibrant coastal forests and dramatic waterfalls to stunning glaciers and unique polar wildlife, Ushuaia really is somewhere where you’ll be able to bask in the sheer beauty of nature, and soak up some sensational panoramic views from the vantage points found here. This city, though, while being famous for being (arguably) the most southernmost city in the entire world, is also something of a gateway to Antarctica and the smaller islands that make up the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. So, despite being rather quaint in comparison to other Argentinian cities and South American holiday hotspots, what you’re met with in Ushuaia is just a taste of what’s to come – if you’re continuing onto Antarctica, anyway. That doesn’t mean you should be too eager to leave Ushuaia, though, as this port of call does offer a lot more than just breathtaking natural beauty. Ushuaia is also home to a unique collection of museums and some fantastic food; so, while the awe-inspiring natural beauty of the region is a major highlight, this is one destination that will prove to be just as memorable as everything else on your itinerary.
Things to do in Ushuaia:
Tierra del Fuego National Park
An expansive national park that protects nearly 70,000 hectares of land, the Tierra del Fuego National Park combines marine areas, forests, and mountains to create a truly fascinating place worth exploring if you have the time while visiting Ushuaia. Here, you’ll find everything from luscious woodland and tumbling waterfalls to dramatic mountains and serene lakes. Throughout, you’ll also find evidence of the Yámanas, the first inhabitants of these lands, which serves to remind everyone who spends some time here that this region has been inhabited for more than 10,000 years. With so much to see, this is easily the best place to visit if you’re looking to switch off and embrace the great outdoors.
Museo del Fin del Mundo
If you want to learn more about the city of Ushuaia, Museo del fin del Mundo is the perfect place to go. A living heritage museum that explores the history and culture of Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the End of the World Museum (which is its name in English) is home to numerous exhibitions that explore the native history of this region, the local fauna and flora, the traditions and customs of the people here, and even some of the shipwrecks that have happened here over the centuries. Found in parts of the National Bank building and Old Government House, these impressive buildings only serve to highlight the importance of the museum and its contents.
Museo de la Ciudad
Also known as Casa Pena, this former private residence has served as the City Museum in Ushuaia since 2009; with an interesting selection of informative exhibits and historic items, this museum offers visitors a fantastic insight into what ordinary life was like in this city throughout the 20th century – which is when it was originally occupied by the Pena family.
Punta Arenas
DAY 21
08 Feb 2026
Time at Port: from 12 PM to 8 PM
The peninsular of Punta Arenas is a hugely popular location for those wanting to whale watch either from the rugged coastline or boat trips out to sea. Cruisers stopping by can also enjoy the sanctuary for sea life such as endangered turtles and seahorses, or kayak along the Magellan Straits to spot penguins. Explore the main boulevard and take in the local art gallery, or hit the duty free area for fantastic souvenirs.
Things to do in Punta Arenas:
Magellan Penguins Natural Reserve
Home to around 60,000 pairs of Magellan penguins, Magellan Penguins Natural Reserve is a fantastic place to get up close to nature. The boat ride there is also a chance to spot whales and other marine life, before getting some great photos with the penguins.

Things to do in Santiago (San Antonio):
Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts
The oldest fine arts museum in South America, the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago is one of the world’s major centres for Chilean and South American art; established in 1880 and currently housed in the Palace of the Fine Arts – which was built in 1910 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Chilean independence – this museum boasts a collection of over 5,000 artworks.
La Moneda Palace
Once an impressive mint house during Chile’s colonial period, producing coins from 1814 to 1929, La Moneda Palace is the current seat of the president of the Republic of Chile and one of Santiago’s most famous landmarks. Occupying an entire block in the city’s Civic District, the neoclassical architectural style is influenced by Roman construction styles, affording the building a unique grandeur. It opens onto the Plaza de La Constitución, a neat city square that’s almost the same size as La Moneda Palace itself. The La Moneda Cultural Centre also sits just behind the palace, and you’ll find rotating art exhibitions, restaurants, and more within.
Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception on San Cristóbal Hill
One of the principal places of worship for the Catholic Church of Chile, and somewhere that’s considered a symbol of the city of Santiago, the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception is a shrine made famous for its impressive statue of the Virgin Mary – symbolising the immaculate conception of Jesus Christ – that stands over 14 metres tall. Sitting atop San Cristóbal Hill, which means the statue stands over 850 metres above sea level, this sanctuary offers visitors incredible views of Santiago and the surrounding scenery.

Marina is a lovely ship. Great size if you prefer smaller ships. Staff in the main were great with a shout out to Louis, Sherry and Anup in the Terrace as they went above interns of service. Very disappointed with the service n the main dining room. Service was poor and staff seemed too busy to care. Aliens the wine waiter in Toscana and the Terrace was an exceptional sommelier. Really know her wines . The speciality dining rooms were very good , both good and service. Entertainment was a little low key to what we’re used to on other cruise lines. The acts in the main show although were different and very good were very similar, I. e. single men singing and telling funny stories. We are used to much more variety. Cabin crew were very good but unlike other cruise lines didn’t know our names. We had a great cruise and may consider Oceania again if the itinerary was rihjt

Great ship & enjoyable excursions.
However as a vegetarian there wasn't much choice when it came to main courses. On one particular day, the buffet restaurant had no vegetarian choices apart from margarita pizza which was served every day.
Also wished Marina staff would have been on hand to help with disembarkation. A few of us went to wrong building to collect are luggage.

Beautiful ship, small size only 1250 people And 800 staff. The food and service excellent. however, I prefer fixed dining on a shared table and also an indoor cinema would be nice. I love afternoon tea with a string quartet. estate room was beautiful with a lovely spacious veranda. on the whole I would recommend the ship

Things to do in Rio de Janeiro:
Copacabana Beach
Spanning nearly 2 1⁄2 miles, Copacabana Beach is an iconic beach that features golden sands, dark blue waters and is surrounded by a vibrant promenade, resorts and restaurants. The moment you arrive at this popular beach you’ll be in awe of the incredible mountains that tower over it.
Christ the Redeemer
Constructed in 1931, this extraordinary statue depicts Jesus Christ in an Art Deco style. Created by Paul Landowski, a renowned French sculptor, it’s an incredibly popular attraction to visit whilst in the city. Overlooking the city, it can be seen from several areas of Rio de Janeiro and makes for a great photo opportunity.
Sugarloaf Mountain
One of the highest peaks in the city, located at the start of Guanabara Bay, the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain can be visited by cable car. Sitting at a height of 396 metres, the views you’ll get from Sugarloaf Mountain will take your breath away.
Ilha Grande
DAY 5
23 Jan 2026
Time at Port: from 8 AM to 6 PM
A forest-covered island around 12km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Ilha Grande is the perfect destination for the explorers among you. It’s home to several well-maintained and well-signposted walking trails which will afford you the opportunity to admire the island’s incredible wildlife – of which, you’ll find everything from parrots and hummingbirds to monkeys – and stunning scenery. With roughly 63% of the island covered by the Ilha Grande State Park, and numerous smaller reserves in place protecting the flora, fauna, and traditional communities that reside here, 87% of the island has a protected status. While you won’t find too many attractions here, this is a great place to get in touch with nature and explore a unique environment that – in part, at least – is endangered.
Things to do in Ilha Grande:
Lopes Mendes
An extended palm tree-lined white-sand beach with crystal-clear waters, this beach is the definition of paradise and just one of the beaches you can take advantage of when you’re on Ilha Grande. If you’re looking to unwind in the sunshine with sand between your toes, this is the perfect place to do just that.

Montevideo
DAY 9
27 Jan 2026
Time at Port: from 10 AM to 8 PM
Buenos Aires - Overnight onboard
DAY 10-11
28 Jan 2026
Time at Port: from 8 AM to 1 PM
Buenos Aires, the vibrant capital city of Argentina and one of the world’s global cities, is a modern metropolis overflowing with engaging cultures, flavourful cuisines, and exciting things to see and do. Famed for being the World’s Capital of Theater, with the largest number of active theatres in the world, this city boasts an eclectic mix of European architectural styles, a wide variety of cultures, and an abundance of attractions you won’t want to miss. You’ll find stunning street art throughout several vibrant barrios, a wonderful variety of cuisines from around the world available, and so much more. There’s a reason this city draws millions of tourists from around the world each year, and why so many of those tourists keep coming back. With deep-rooted traditions found hand-in-hand with cutting-edge modern culture, something that complements the upbeat atmosphere found throughout this city, Buenos Aires is somewhere truly special.
It’s thought of as something of a time capsule, showcasing the best of Buenos Aires in the early 20th century, and a fantastic place to spend some time immersing yourself in the incredible culture here.
San Telmo
Buenos Aires’ oldest neighbourhood, San Telmo, is overflowing with historic charm, authentic cuisine, and fascinating buildings and landmarks. From El Zanjón de Granados and Museo de la Historia del Traje to Casa Mínima, Museo Moderno, and more, culture vultures and history buffs will find themselves with an abundance of activities when spending any amount of time here. And, for everyone else, this neighbourhood is full of vibrant culture to immerse yourself in, with restaurants, bars, and more to explore.
At Sea
DAY 12-13
30 Jan 2026

While sailing between destinations, you’ll have time to take a moment and enjoy everything your cruise ship has to offer; with stunning food prepared with the freshest ingredients, fantastic entertainment opportunities, and plenty of places to lounge around, an enjoyable day at sea awaits!
Port Stanley, Falkland Islands
DAY 14
01 Feb 2026
Time at Port: from 10 AM to 6 PM
At Sea
DAY 15
02 Feb 2026
Time at Port: TBD
While sailing between destinations, you’ll have time to take a moment and enjoy everything your cruise ship has to offer; with stunning food prepared with the freshest ingredients, fantastic entertainment opportunities, and plenty of places to lounge around, an enjoyable day at sea awaits!
