Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Oceania Marina
We were disappointed with this ship. much preferred Regatta. Several very noisy groups spoilt the experience for us. the Waves dining space was not large enough at times and we struggled to find an empty table especially at breakfast. this was probably because we were travelling to colder climates. the formal dining room closed at 8. 00am for breakfast and it was not comfortable to eat outside. I would suggest extending the formal dining room breakfast hours on similar cruises. we loved the scenery and our cabin was great. cost of ship excursions was extremely expensive. not value for money.
Excellent ship. Enjoyed the food (of course). Particular liked the Aquamar Kitchen. Ship is a little dated but going for major refit so should look great when finished. Crew are fantastic and we like the size of the Marina (have also been on Allura and Riviera) better than the smaller Oceania ships for us. We find the entertainment aimed at an older generation (we are 68) and given the size of the ship there are only a couple of bars so not the variety you get on bigger ships. String quartets and afternoon tea are definitely not our thing! That said, we would still book another Oceania cruise if the itinerary was right as the food, crew and general feel of the ship are still excellent. At the moment we are benefiting from the Honoring program so getting the equivalent of our Sapphire status on NCL which translates to Platinum status on Oceania. We also like the free wifi, included gratuities and drinks package that Oceania offer.
The ship was elegant and comfortable, with plenty of options for food, which is of a good standard. One problem experienced by ALL guests is the limited opening hours of the terrace cafe, closing early afternoon, with no real alternatives available afterwards. This is especially problematic if you have been on shore until mid afternoon, then not being able to get food upon boarding!! The entertainment was only average, where as on the sistership, the Riviera, the quality was far superior. The cabins could do with a make over, with some still having very small shower cubicles, which were difficult to use, even for slim people! There were plenty of sunbeds available around the pool, which is always a bonus. As an overall, we would definitely book another cruise with Oceania, but would maybe look at another ship
