Electric Sunsets 90's vs 00's Adults Only Cruise from Palma, 1 November 2025 (3 nights)

Very nice cruising1

The friendliness of Marella's staff & crew are its biggest asset. We've noticed changes associated with various savings & reduced customer experience each time we cruise with Marella but always are drawn back because we've come to know so many of their friendly crew & entertainment team, its like meeting up with old friends again. However the main difference for us on Voyager is that there is no self service buffet and everything is served to you (I much prefer to select my own). I would not sail on anything bigger than Voyager and hate the tower block style of the huge monsters that we often see docked alongside. So many others we've talked to all agree on this point. Lack of adequate ladies (& possibly also men's) toilets outside the Squid & Anchor was an issue for lots of ladies having to queue for the 2 cubicles to service around a couple of hundred people on a busy night. !!! Didn't have any issue with sunbeds, queues for the bars etc & service was excellent. Theatre shows are no longer like the West End style, with previous fabulous costumes and glamour that Peel entertainment used to provide and there weren't any weekly guest Comedian or Tribute/Special guest appearances - again major cutbacks to the overall customer experience that once was absolutely wonderful under Peel. Still a very nice ship but with the customary whiff of sewage, particularly behind the bar area in Squid & Anchor although this was eventually resolved before the end of our 2 week cruise. We did have an occasional sewage smell in our cabin bathroom but it was quickly rectified. I think these arise possibly because the fleet are all older ships purchased with some inherent issues due to age. The Bands, Muzzik Unlimited and The Journeymen were absolutely brilliant and we were so glad they were on during our cruise. Food, although plentiful, doesn't have the range it used to and the late night snacks are limited and repetitive with pretty much the same offering of curry (usually vindaloo) and cheap bites every night. Cabin staff are excellent as always and kept everything tidy, clean and fresh. Prices, as with most things, have gone up considerably and we noticed that Voyager appeared to be that bit more expensive than the rest of the Marella fleet. Would love to see some wider variation in the routes being offered as we've done the same routes so many times now, possibly re-introduce USA & Canada. Would we return, yes, definitely - we always make the most of our holidays and are still well taken care of by the amazing staff.

Everything was great from the room to the staff. All very polite, happy faces couldn't do enough for you. Food choices were excellent. Will go again.

My time on Marella Voyager was wonderful from start to finish. I have done a few cruises on different cruise lines and Marella was by far the best so far. I have nothing but praise for the staff, the food, the entertainment. Also when it says all inclusive that is exactly what you get, no added extras like a booze package. Everything was included. I will be looking at Marella again for another cruise next year. Thank you Marella for a wonderful holiday.
