Queen Victoria Reviews
View Cruise DealsVery enjoyable time.
We booked this in the first quarter of 2023 when it was cold, wet and dismal. We knew it would be similar in November and found a good priced 12 nights with Cunard, on the Queen Victoria, going to the Canaries. When we boarded in Southampton, all the Christmas decorations were up and the ship looked wonderful.. We were allocated a Deluxe Inside cabin which was huge, on Deck 1 and so calm and quiet. We never use our cabin throughout the day, preferring to take advantage of the activities, table tennis especially, or talks from interesting speakers. We knew all the ports we went to and having been on many excursions in those ports in the past, there was plenty to see within walking distance of the Cruise Terminals. The whole cruise was so relaxing and achieved exactly what we wanted at this time of year.
Cunard have maintained their standards and the whole cruise was excellent. Nice cabin, good food, excellent service, relevant speakers and mostly good evening news entertainment. Basic wifi was very good and one allowed us to switch between four devices. Drinks as ever too expensive!
We had a wonderful time on Cunard Queen Victoria, beautiful ship, and all staff very polite. Excellent meals and nice having room service 24hr and all in with the holiday cost. Will definitely cruise with Cunard again.
Brilliant trip to Norway to find the Northern Lights and we were not disappointed.
Usual 5 star service from Cunard. Will be back for more.
Highly recommend the Queen Victoria such an elegant and wonderful ship.
A very enjoyable cruise. We did not partake in the ship’s activities and only went on one excursion so are not really in a position to judge these matters however others seemed to enjoy them. My only gripe is the price of alcoholic drinks onboard.
This was a most enjoyable cruise to Spain and Portugal on Queen Victoria. Our Oceanview cabin was comfortable, well maintained and kept in immaculate condition by our steward. Food in Brittania Restaurant was very nice, maybe not 5 star, but excellent anyway. Also enjoyed eating in Lido, Golden Lion and Afternoon Tea in Queens Room - all very nice. Shows with the Show Team and Singers in the Royal Court Theatre were mixed - we enjoyed two, didn’t like one and missed another - one girl shouts rather than sings. Comedian, who did two shows, was hilarious. Music around the ship was great - Irish folk duo of father and son were amazing, The Watsons husband and wife duo were great and Amethyst duo were good too. One of our highlights was the Insight programme with speakers Caroline Aston, Philip St. Lawrence and John Bridcut - most definitely the best series of talks we have ever had. You can see little cuts here and there but, mainly, you still feel pampered. The crew are amazing. If we have to be picky, I would say that we were disappointed that there was no lunchtime live music on deck on port days (and there were plenty of people around) and sail always are very low key. This perhaps ties in with the fact that we found the Entertainment team, although pleasant, to be lacking in personality - in the past we have met some that have been just the opposite. Overall, it was great! Oh, the M'D on left hand side of Brittania Restaurant needs to learn to smile - unlike the rest of the staff he was barely polite.
Very enjoyable. Great entertainment.
