Costa Toscana Reviews
View Cruise DealsBooking with Iglu cruise is really easy, very helpful and supportive staff so everything was a breeze. Website was easy and clear. Costa cruise app was really useless prior to the cruise which is annoying as we could have booked dinner venues or even spa sessions prior to being onboard, however we had no problem getting reservations whilst onboard. This was a full cruise which meant 6700 people were onboard excluding the staff, however we did not feel at any point it was crowded! Breakfast was busy but there were multiple venues so we always managed to get a table and it would quieten down quite quickly even at 930am! The excursion to Pompeii was amazing with a great guide and most of the destinations were enjoyable and convenient even for us to go on our own. I would advice to skip Genoa as it was quite boring. Entertainment was overall good especially the Heinkein bar and NY eve celebration was really rocking in the venues. However I would really rate the food quality as mediocre, sadly. My expectations of an Italian cruise is that food at least would be good but meals were bland, sauces lack depth, 1st night my pasta was stuck together!! Bread had rock hard exterior and light as air ( the better restaurants had better bread!) , dessert I had at the Ferrari restaurant one night was super disappointing because it was just some whipped mascarpone, pieces of biscuits- so that was lazy and too easy. However the prices of food and drinks were reasonable even without a drink package. I did love the Nutella bar which had great crepes! Pool area was noisy with kids but that is expected. There is an adult only pool outside but Dec is just too cold for that. Overall it was ok, it would have been better if they had like International night ( where English speaking guests could mingle or meet up ) like they had a Spanish night.
It was fantastic value. beautiful cabin, inside cabin 12015 new ship furnishings superb . Staff fantastic and helpful. food like most cruise liners it was varied and something for everyone . Entertainment a little flat . but for value for money an excellent cruise .
My trip on Costa Toscana was fantastic! The ship is modern and beautiful, with a cozy cabin and excellent food. The onboard entertainment is diverse — there’s something new every day. The staff is polite, attentive, and always ready to help. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. A great cruise — I would definitely come back again!
The mood of the service staff in the buffets is very gloomy. If you ask for more on your plate, they do so in a dismissive and dismissive manner. It was discomfort about no cofe if you dont have extra drinks package. Inner cabins are very small. And lifts between decks can work better it was a lot of waiting. Everything else was amazing and good.
The ship itself is lovely. The entertaintment provided was varied but nothing could be described as amazing. Some of the singing contests were cringeworthy. The food is mediocre and if you miss dinner theres is very little on offer and you have to pay. Cant get a free coffee early in the morning and water fountains are non existent even in the Gym. Gym is fantastic. They are money grabbers though so beware. Tips are compulsory 11 euros per person per day. Excursions are robbery.
Great value for money don’t understand why Costa gets so many negative reviews.
The service staff were all very pleasant and friendly. Everything on the ship was multilingual, including the staff. The food was OK, but not the best. It was often cold even when it was supposed to be hot. There were hidden costs like an overnight tax to be paid, no drinking water in the rooms but a drinks package being pushed for Eur27 per day. Without a package bottled water was Eur4. It felt like they were constantly trying to squeeze every last penny out of you.
Room great, balcony very good, staff polite, heavenly reliant on people using the costa app. Some things were not clear, drinks packages had limitations not stated clearly when booking it.
Fabulous ship . Huge . Italian and leans more towards this . Not many English on board . Entertainment so so . Staff were great . Had great stopping points . Nothing to complain about .
A brilliant cruise, I was a little nervous as there’s some terrible reviews out there, but we could not have had a better experience. The ship is huge with lots to do and spotlessly clean. The staff were lovely and the ports were great. The food is Italian so don’t expect roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, expect fresh salads and fruit, pasta and meats. We really enjoyed it and when the kids did fancy a burger there’s a paid for bar where the burgers were about the same cost as a normal take away. The shows were ok, not great as you can’t see much due to the silly lay out if the theatre, but they do have special shows at the back of the ship in the open air and they were good. The only thing I’d say is an absolute must is to get the drinks package otherwise you will have to drink water from the state room taps, and you can also get it free at mealtimes, but at no other time. It’s an Italian ship so expect lots of Italian families on the ship, I’ve read people complaining about them but we found all the other guests lovely. You can smoke on your balcony, but again, we never encountered any issues with smoke coming onto ours. I was told by an Iglu employee that you could not pay him to go on a Costa Cruise when I enquired about it. I’m glad we did not listen as we had a fab time.
