Memphis Rock n Soul Museum & Memphis Music Hall of Fame Combo Ticket
DAY 3
Time at Port: TBD
Home of the Blues, Memphis is home to several fascinating music museums, and today you’re going to have the chance to explore two of the most exciting: the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. Two must-visit destinations in Tennessee’s second-most populous city, your cruise package includes a combo ticket for both experiences, affording you free rein to explore the exhibits within both throughout the day. The Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, situated on the iconic Beale Street, highlights the pioneers who overcame both racial and socioeconomic challenges to create rock music, the sound of soul, and the blues in Memphis during the early 20th century. Meanwhile, the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, which is just off Beale Street itself, pays homage to Memphis’ most remarkable musicians, honouring their achievements with a spot in this impressive establishment. With so much incredible history to discover and truly great artists to learn about, your day will be well spent exploring these two magnificent museums in the heart of Memphis.
Things to see:
Memphis Musician Memorabilia
A city that’s home to a staggering number of legendary musicians, you’ll have the chance to see authentic memorabilia and interesting items relating to these iconic artists in both the Memphis Music Hall of Fame and the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. From Elvis’ dazzling jumpsuits and Isaac Hayes’ road organ to an iconic black three-piece suit once worn by Johnny Cash, and much more, both destinations offer incredible insight into the lives of these legends of the Memphis music scene. Legends that include B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, ZZ Top, Otis Redding, Memphis Minnie, Tina Turner, and so many more!
Memphis’ Blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll
Memphis’ vibrant music scene proved instrumental in the evolution of both the blues and rock ‘n’ roll music throughout the early 20th century, and you’ll have the chance to explore the origins of both genres when visiting the Memphis Music Hall of Fame and Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. Sounds borne of a blend of African American folk music and country music, Memphis music legend W. C. Handy is widely regarded as the Father of the Blues, having recorded "The Memphis Blues" in 1909 – a song that is thought of as the first blues song to be written down and recorded in history. As for Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphis was just one of several cities where the ‘cultural collision’ that created such expressive music occurred – a situation where former slaves found themselves now living in proximity with white Americans in major American cities like Memphis, St. Louis, Cleveland, and New York City. The incredible number of Memphis-made musicians throughout the first half of the 19th century and beyond, including the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley, highlights just how vital the music scene here was.
New Memphis Music
The Memphis Music Hall of Fame isn’t just about celebrating the legends of the past; it also shines a light on the future of the Memphis music scene. With New Memphis Music, an oversized screen in the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, you’ll have the chance to check out some of this city’s rising stars – and maybe future Memphis Music Hall of Fame inductees. With artists like Valerie June, Don Lifted, Motel Mirrors, Amy LaVere, and more a part of Memphis’ abundance of musical talents, you never know who you’ll discover on this screen – they may even become a new favourite!

Mississippi Dinner Jazz Paddle-boat Cruise
DAY 5
Time at Port: TBD
Are you ready to step back in time and experience the glamour of America’s riverboat era first-hand? Well, with this immersive paddlewheeler cruise along the stunning Mississippi River, you’ll be doing just that – and there’s so much more to look forward to than the views. On this river cruise aboard the stunning Creole Queen paddlewheeler, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the vibrant and lively music of the immensely talented Muddy River Jazz Band, while enjoying a flavourful Creole-style dinner. As the sun sets, this cultural capital comes alive with bright lights and a lively atmosphere, making this an immersive sightseeing experience unlike any other.
Things to see:
Vibrant Mississippi Jazz Music
An upbeat but bluesy style of Jazz, which marries jaunty vaudeville tunes and African rhythmic rituals with ragtime stylings and dance music, the music you’ll be enjoying on your Mississippi River cruise aboard an authentic southern American paddlewheeler is second-to-none. Expect a lively upbeat tempo, with swinging sounds and a healthy dose of improvisation – all things which make this particular style of Jazz so special.
Colourful Creole Cuisine
A unique cuisine borne of America’s colonial past, where African, European, Native American, and South American foods and flavours would blend to create incredible new dishes and dining experiences, Creole cuisine is always a delight. With French foods, Spanish dishes, and West African influences all integral to the development of what we now consider Creole cuisine, expect each bite to be bursting with flavour, and dishes to include everything from rice and beans to oysters, crawfish, chicken, and more. The desserts that find themselves at home in this cuisine often feature local fruits and nuts, sugar cane syrup, and baked goods.
Jackson Square
Jackson Square, a park area formerly known as Place d’Armes, is one of the most important places in New Orleans. Sitting in the heart of the city’s French Quarter, this is where the Louisiana Purchase of 1803 was finalised – a land deal that saw the United States acquire a staggering amount of territory from the French Republic. Now, while the territory was just known as French Louisiana when purchased, that territory makes up no less than 15 states, from Montana in the northwest, all the way down to Louisiana in the American South. In the square itself, you’ll find a statue of former president Andrew Jackson, who was credited with victory at the 1815 Battle of New Orleans, and the impressive Saint Louis Cathedral.

The ship was fantastic especially the quality of the cabin we had, which was a Stateroom Balcony.
The only disappointment was the quality of the food, as the steak in the steak restaurant wasn't very good and the signature restaurants were all the same type of food cooked differently.
Most of the staff were friendly, especially the cleaning staff.
Overall a very good experience on the Ascent.
In one of the bars, which specialised in Whisky, one of the waiters did not know what malt whiskey was!!

Ascent is a brilliant ship. Second time travelled on her. Most dining was fine, but Cyprus restaurant was like eating in the dark.
Would recommend this ship. Entertainment was generally good but Elton John act was crass.
Good set of fellow passengers.

Memphis - Graceland VIP Tour
DAY 2
Time at Port: TBD
Have you ever wondered what life was really like for Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll? You may have watched some of the movies and documentaries featuring this larger-than-life figure before, but nothing quite compares to visiting Graceland: Elvis Presley’s former home, and a remarkable museum complex dedicated to his life, career, and legacy. As part of this incredible cruise package, you’ll have the chance to spend a day exploring the Graceland Museum complex in Memphis, Tennessee, with VIP access privileges expanding the experience further. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of Elvis’ music, this remarkable experience offers you an invaluable insight into the man himself, his staggering career, and the legacy he has left behind – both on those close to him and the world at large. When visiting Graceland, you’ll be invited to explore Graceland Mansion itself on an audio-guided tour, check out some exclusive VIP exhibits on his life and career, and even marvel at two of his custom private jets: the Lisa Marie and the Hound Dog II. Beyond this, the Graceland Mansion complex is also home to several museums dedicated to Elvis and the influence of his music, restaurants where you can enjoy authentic Memphis cuisine – a city famed for its home-cooked ‘soul food’ – and shopping experiences, should you want to pick up a souvenir to remember your time here. A remarkably comprehensive look at Elvis Presley, this is more than just a tour of an old mansion once occupied by a rock and roll star; this is an in-depth exploration into the life, career, and legacy of one of history’s greatest entertainers.
Things to see:
Graceland Mansion
An impressive mansion estate in the heart of Memphis, once owned by Elvis Presley, Graceland is dedicated to the king of rock and roll, and now offers visitors an invaluable insight into his life, career, and legacy. Around 14 acres in area, there’s nowhere quite like Graceland, and those visiting will have the chance to see Elvis’ living room, music room, and more alongside the famous Jungle Room – a family favourite, with a Polynesian feel and interior decor unlike anything else in the mansion house.
The Lisa Marie
An impressive 1958 Convair 880 purchased by Elvis in April 1975, the Lisa Marie is an elegant custom jet named after the rock and roll star’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Featuring a stylish living space, conference room, and private bedroom, Elvis spent over $800,000 having the private jet customised to suit his needs – and tastes. Onboard, you’ll find gold-plated seat belts, 24-karat gold-flecked sinks in the bathroom, and more opulence.
Elvis Presley’s Memphis
An impressive state-of-the-art entertainment and museum complex, Elvis Presley’s Memphis is an incredible experience that invites you to follow the life path of the larger-than-life figure, surrounded by everything he loved, and experience the influential events, sights, and sounds of the city that inspired him throughout his life. Here, you’ll find Elvis: The Entertainer Career Museum, Elvis: Dressed to Rock, the Presley Motors Automobile Museum, the Lisa Marie: Growing Up Presley exhibit, and so much more. Expanding on everything you’ll experience in the Graceland Mansion itself, this is an invaluable addition to the Graceland Mansion complex and your time here.

With this dinner menu featuring foods like authentic Louisiana Creole jambalaya, Cajun green beans, sausage gumbo, and beef brisket, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to finding something delicious to tuck into. If the mood takes you, you’ll have some time to dance to the musical stylings of the Muddy River Jazz Band after dinner. However, you can also spend this time sipping on a classic New Orleans cocktail on the promenade deck, watching the stunning surrounding scenery, and the city of New Orleans slip by.
