The ship is beautiful and most staff and service were fabulous. The food was great in every venue in particular the main dining rooms, the buffet and Eden for lunch (breakfast not so good) We also enjoyed breakfast at the spa cafe. Unfortunately we didn’t like the infinite balcony. Other negatives were lack of sunbeds mainly due to people reserving sunbeds, there are no quiet areas to sit outside during the day, we ended up sitting outside Eden but the doors to go inside were closed meaning drinks and toilets required a walk to The Martini Bar this was despite the ‘smoking side’ remaining open. The bed linen and towels were poor quality, Bar service and drink quality was mostly great! Ship excursions were very expensive and the ports of Bar and Olympia were awful unless you had booked a tour.

The Ascent was a fabulous cruise ship. We enjoyed great food and entertainment. Couldn't fault the staff. Won't would to rush back to Istanbul or Naples--unless you use it as a means to get to Sorrento/Capri. Not a fan of the infinity balcony!!! Also avoid deck 12 if you want sun on your balcony as the over hang from the above deck blocks out the sun.

Could do better for solo travellers If you missed the one and only meeting on embarkation you would not be able to connect with so travellers. It needs to be in the day programme

Lovely ship, spotlessly clean with very friendly, helpful staff. On the downside there was a lack of sun beds on sea days, and limited shaded areas, and drinks expensive, if a package not taken. Entertainment very good. The ship’s band in the theatre was very talented and the guest performers were all great. Lots of lovely areas to sit. The food was good and it was nice to have the choice of 4 restaurants in the evenings. Would definitely travel with Celebrity again.
