A fantastic cruise - second time on board Scarlet Lady and did not disappoint. We travelled with friends this time and the itinerary was excellent with a mix of new ports for us and a couple of favourites including Ajaccio. The range of restaurants was good although personally we preferred Razzle Dazzle as an American Diner than Lucky Lotus Chinese. Impressed with the Galley for breakfast and during the day and absolutely loved Richard's Rooftop. Next one booked for Scarlet Lady again with a different itinerary including Greek Islands and Turkey
Ship was clean and beautiful, but didn't enjoy the holiday.
Lovely food, restaurants very busy and delays between courses on occasion. Fab staff and service. Really upset by the 10% Spanish sales tax being at all times to all drinks from bars and the bar tab, throughout the cruise. Even in international waters and French or Italian ports in addition to the Spanish ports. A bit of advanced warning might help.
We had a fabulous time on Scarlet Lady -our first Virgin Voyages trip but we will definitely be taking another one before long. Our Aegean adventure took in Istanbul, Ephesus, Mykonos, Crete, Rhodes and Santorini. Our first time in each. We took organised trips from the ship in most ports (not Mykonos or Crete) and all were excellent if a little pricey. The atmosphere on the ship as very relaxed and informal as well as being Adults only. Food across all the restaurants was delicious. We particularly enjoyed The Test Kitchen (not really what it suggests - more a tasting menu which changes after a few days). All the crew were excellent and service with a smile. The only reason this review is not 5 Stars is the poor alcoholic drink range and standard on board. All too often the wine or beer on the list was unavailable and the replacements recommended were often not good and no prices shown. They could at least do with a "Specials" board at each bar to indicate what is available. Definitely needs some work in this area. Final point - do take something scarlet coloured (whatever your gender) to wear for Scarlet Night - it is great fun and amazing to experience the party across the ship
