Excellent ship. Enjoyed the food (of course). Particular liked the Aquamar Kitchen. Ship is a little dated but going for major refit so should look great when finished. Crew are fantastic and we like the size of the Marina (have also been on Allura and Riviera) better than the smaller Oceania ships for us. We find the entertainment aimed at an older generation (we are 68) and given the size of the ship there are only a couple of bars so not the variety you get on bigger ships. String quartets and afternoon tea are definitely not our thing! That said, we would still book another Oceania cruise if the itinerary was right as the food, crew and general feel of the ship are still excellent. At the moment we are benefiting from the Honoring program so getting the equivalent of our Sapphire status on NCL which translates to Platinum status on Oceania. We also like the free wifi, included gratuities and drinks package that Oceania offer.
Our first cruise with Oceania on Nautica and we had a wonderful time. The food was superb and we couldn’t fault any of the staff who were friendly, professional and saw to our every need. The destinations were beautiful. We didn’t go on any excursions as we prefer to explore independently. The entertainment was good, especially the musicians but we felt the dancing/singing acts were a little limited probably due to the space constraints. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise except for the chaos after disembarkation trying to locate our transfer to the airport but I’m not sure if this is anything that Oceania could change as we had disembarked.
Vista is a lovely ship. We have cruised with Oceania a number of times and never been disappointed. However on this cruise there were a number of issues. The itinerary was ok but the tendering process left a lot to be desired. There were not enough tenders and there was a lot of confusion leading to delays at several ports. Whilst the food was good in the main, there was a lack of choice in the main dining room for dinner. Many dishes were repeated every day and only a few were changed each day. Mashed potato was on the menu every day. Breakfast menu never changed throughout the cruise and was very disappointing. The speciality restaurants were outstanding however. The staff in every department were exceptional.
The arrangements for the holiday conducted by Iglu were excellent. The culture of Oceania was very dissapointing and completely ruined the holiday to the point where I don’t want to be Reminded of it.
