Vista is a beautiful ship. The food is lovely but it does not justify the comment “best cuisine at sea”. The cabin is lovely with a large full sized shower in the very spacious bathroom. A coffee maker would have been an extra touch in the cabins. For us, the fact there was no night time entertainment beyond 11pm was a real disappointment. Even though we are in our late 60’s and early 70’s we are not ready to retire to bed so early in the way the majority of passengers seemed quite happy with. The age demographic was also a bit of a problem on our particular itinerary
Positives - 1. The ship was lovely 2. The stateroom cabin was spot on, plenty of room, lots of storage, great en-suite, comfy bed and a balcony. 3. The food and drinks were amazing in all the restaurants, eateries and bars. 4. The staff were superb to a person. Nothing was too much trouble and in reality the staff pre-empted pretty much what you wanted before you even knew you wanted it. 5. The onboard entertainment team were great, very enthusiastic, accomplished and a pleasure to watch. The guest speakers and performers were also excellent. Negatives- This is a big negative 1. We booked to visit 8 different countries and only visited 4. We had 7 cancelled ports of call from our original itinerary. Very disappointing! 2. Slow free wifi 3. The trips ashore through Oceania were far too expensive, hence we didn’t use them and did our own thing, as did almost everyone onboard who we spoke too. Overall, we would probably use a Oceania again.
Cabin was good, very comfortable. Staff at all levels were excellent , nothing is too much trouble. Toilets and public areas were very clean, plenty of hand sanitizers in all areas. We had the basic drinks package, it was perfectly adequate drinks are available in all bars during allocated time. However, slightly disappointed with the food, main dining room food often cold, soggy, unappetising. Buffet breakfast and lunch food was not very exciting. Dinner buffet more choice , again food not very hot. Oceania (as they advertise)do not have the best food at sea Speciality restaurants were good. Entertainment was good, staff were brilliant. For a small ship there was plenty to do. Would travel on Oceania again.
Pros: Friendly Crew. Beautifully designed ship interiors. Excellent specialty restaurants with excellent choices. Well laid out suites. Cons: average lukewarm food in Grand Dining room. Lack of further availability in Speciality restaurants. Crowded sun beds near main pool with limited shaded areas. Very old age demographic of other passengers. Unfortunately poor weather didn’t help.
