Based on a previous,Marella cruise, it appears on this ship the accommodation area has shrunk, including the balcony area. A description from the advertisement from which I chose, a luxury room with balcony, was far from it.
Couldn't falt the food offered, which was the only good thing about it.

9 Dec 2025
This was a transitioning cruise from Malaga to Barbados. The ship was great, the crew very helpful at all times, the weather was good (after Gibralter) - the only thing that spoiled it was some of the other people on board. Why some people have to shout to others and use the f-word at least once in every sentence is a puzzle. Why they are allowed to get away with it is a mystery. One lady I spoke to had taken to wearing headphones whenever she was on the top deck so she didn't have to hear it. But I do understand that 4 people did have their cruise ended earlier than they had booked for. . . . .
The food seemed to have improved since our last cruise with Marella and it was nice to be able to just walk into any of the included restaurants and immediately be seated without having to plan ahead and book in advance. Maybe the folk who cannot speak without using the f-word were all piling up their plates in the buffet?
However, I do have an intolerance (which I always declared) and one night I ordered the green Thai curry which had the relevant food in it but was unlisted. My waiter acknowledged as he took the order that I was intolerant to the food, but when it arrived - there it was! Lucky it was in lumps and I spotted it before I ate any. It was quickly replaced with something else when I pointed it out, but had it been in powder form I might not have noticed; eaten it; and had a very uncomfortable 24 hours afterwards. This element of care needs to be improved. A person with an allergy could have been at serious risk of harm.

On the whole very pleased with Cruise. The only issue was insufficient Sunbeds on Decks. Staff were great so was Food.

Everything was good the only niggle was that they way the cabins have been refurbished, as far as wardrobe space and dressing table allocation was not well thought out and also the cabin creaking at night even when it wasn't rough sailing. Also the entertainment wasn't as good as in the past though the drag artist and Tom Jones impersonater were excellent

Alanya
DAY 7
14 Oct 2025
Time at Port: from 9 AM to 6 PM
A truly breathtaking beach resort city in Turkey, Alanya is one Mediterranean port of call you won’t want to miss on your itinerary. Part of the Turkish Riviera, and famed for being a legendary holiday hotspot for Cleopatra, this destination is renowned for its stunning sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, warm weather year-round, and mountainous backdrop. It’s also a hotspot for comfortable cafes, restaurants serving flavourful food, and lively bars; so, you’ll certainly have a relaxing time while soaking up the sunshine here. However, Alanya isn’t just about relishing in the incredible atmosphere of a Mediterranean resort. You’ll find some impressive hiking routes as you head further inland, and Alanya’s historic city centre is home to an abundance of historic sites worth seeing – Alanya Castle, which you won’t be able to miss when you arrive, dates back to the 13th century! A welcoming destination where the new and the old exist harmoniously to create a truly unique adventure, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Alanya.
Things to do in Alanya:
Alanya Castle & the Red Tower
Built throughout the early 13th century, with completion recorded as 1226, Alanya Castle was constructed over Byzantine and Roman fortifications on an elevated rocky peninsula in the heart of Alanya. Once an active defensive fortification, Alanya castle was transformed into a residential area throughout the 19th century following the Ottoman Empire’s pacification of the region. Now, you can find an open-air museum within. Similarly, the Red Tower – which was also constructed by 1226 and designed to protect the shipyard here – now hosts the Museum of Alanya. It remains one of the best-preserved Seljuk structures in the city and a symbol of Alanya.
Kleopatra Beach
Named for Cleopatra VII, Queen of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt from 51 BC to 30 BC and one of the most famous women in history, Kleopatra Beach is a stunning stretch of white-sand beachfront bordering on bright blue waters and the Mediterranean Sea. A stone’s throw from the heart of Alanya, and enjoying warm weather throughout the year, this beach is a great place for sun lounging and water sports alike. You’re not going to regret spending an afternoon soaking up the glorious Mediterranean sunshine here.
Damlatas Cave
An incredible beachfront cave system just a short distance from Alanya’s city centre, Damlatas Cave is home to an impressive abundance of stalactites and stalagmites formed over 15,000 years. Discovered largely by accident in 1948, the cave is said to be able to cure respiratory issues like asthma – with the cave itself being popularly known as the ‘asthma-cure cave’. With air in the cave containing a high percentage of carbon dioxide and consistently high humidity, there may be some truth to these claims. However, those who come for the cure spend four hours a day, every day for 21 days, in the cave itself.
