The entertainment was good and crew also. The drinks are ridiculously expensive and I’ve never seen such a dry ship mist drinking water or drinking in their cabins. If they considered reducing prices they would make a lot more. The ship however was lovely, the buffet food was good and varied, many preferring in their at night as the food in the restaurants was not the best by far.
Good. Staff were wonderful. Entertainment was really good. Plenty of activities. Two lovely pool areas. Food exceptional. Gym really well equipped and good spa facilities. Well stocked library. Laundry facilities really good. Not so good. WiFi excessively expensive. Gloomy lower interiors. Very few really comfy chairs to curl up with a book. Really uncomfortable sun beds. A reasonably priced glass of house wine would have been nice. Overall. Very aware that this is a cruise or company for rich people. Bit out of our league. We caught gastro bug and confined to cabin for 3 days but didn't seem to be ship-wide. Well handled with hit squad for cabin cleaning. Would we go again? No but perhaps that's just us.
The decor of Queen Anne is a little less traditional than Cunard’s other ships in that it is brighter but still luxurious. On the plus side is the Bright Lights Society, a small cabaret style venue. The awful plastic shower curtains have been replaced with glass doors. The theatre is a much better layout than on QM. On the down side in the cabins there is insufficient wardrobe space, particularly for long items, and it’s split into 4 different areas. The public areas can be chilly, particularly in the theatre. As usual all the crew were friendly and helpful.
I had a lovely transatlantic crossing on Queen Mary 2. I enjoyed the trip and the Cunard service was exactly as it always is. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that the Planetarium is no longer used. On so many previous trips on the Queen Mary 2, the shows in the Planetarium and the use of the system by onboard guest astronomers were real highlights of the cruise. It's such a pity that it is no longer used.
