Any durationCruises from Barbados, specifically its charming capital, Bridgetown, are an excellent way to experience everything the Caribbean has to offer. An incredible island in close proximity to some of this region’s best bits, Barbados enjoys vibrant scenery, a welcoming culture, and sensational weather year-round.
Boarding was effectively done we didn’t have to wait long and we were transferred to the ship Ovation: happy days. The the experience was all the better because we didn’t come via the airport but traveled from the O2 & Spa hotel.

Great to arrive in Barbados airport to board our ship. Beats Miami airport. into a cocked hat! Grantley Adams is efficient and welcoming, no fuss or bother. I wish all our cruises departed from Barbados as Miami is awful.

Couldn't believe as easy it was leaving Gatwick after checking in and not seeing your luggage again until it came to our cabin on board Britannia. No collecting from carousel at Barbados, no customs, no hunting for a coach. All was taken care of before leaving the UK, what a great start to a wonderful cruise. The same experience on departing Barbados, again didn't see luggage from leaving outside cabin night before departure until collecting at Gatwick.

Very good. Flew Premium Economy, which was great. Cruise (in early November) was >80% full, so loungers were hard to come by. Good food; great islands visited, apart from Martinique being closed for a Bank Holiday! Ship entertainment was fair to middling, apart from excellent Rachel Hawnt and excellent Take That shoe

Giving an insight into what life was like in the 18th century, this is a must visit for anyone who has an interest in American or Barbadian history.

In the heart of the city lies the Chamberlain Bridge. Originally a 19th century swing bridge, and now a lift bridge that was constructed in 2006, it offers picturesque views out over the waterfront and situated close to the popular Bridgetown boardwalk.
