Beautiful ship Never felt over busy (apart from pool area). Always somewhere quiet to chill We had a veranda cabin which was spacious & clean. Our housekeeper was great First time doing the dine around on a ship & we missed rapport with regular waiters that you usually form We’ve cruised celebrity 4 times before & found standards have dropped Slow bar service. Dirty tables at main dining rooms Ocean view cafe had amazing selection of foods. Very impressive Entertainment was fabulous. The theatre is amazing Miami port is horrific though. Traffic & trying to get in/out for cruise was a joke. We ended up walking 30mins over bridge to downtown to get a taxi!
2nd time holidaying on the beautiful ship. Complete luxury with amazing staff who were always professional but friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Looking to book again on this ship, so that says it all
Weather wasn’t great but didn’t spoil the holiday. Guests were a good mix of Brits, Canadians and Americans. The visiting entertainment was far more enjoyable than the onboard. Food occasionally good mostly average. We opted out of auto tipping as our cabin experience wasn’t good, including on one occasion our cabin door being left unlocked whilst we were out. We saw others on our corridor the same over the holiday! Staff in general were excellent. Wouldn’t go on this ship again unfortunately. Price of drinks onboard a total rip off ( $25 including gratuities and tax for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc). Cruise companies need to start pricing the entire holiday in one total prepaid amount rather than all the ridiculous overpriced add ons which end up costing as much as what you paid initially to travel!
Celebrity XCel was a fabulous ship and the service was exemplary. The stateroom room (Aqua Class) was superb - very comfortable with plenty of storage and the service assistant was very helpful and discreet. My only comment would be that the balcony was not fully outside (like the Celebrity Solstice that we travelled on last year), but the idea of a downwards sliding upper window did go part of the way. The Blu Restaurant was fabulous in style, atmosphere and service. The Ocean View self service restaurant had lots of choice for most of the day. Overall we had a wonderful time and would certainly travel with Celebrity again.
