Cruise lovers wishing to embark on a voyage of the Mediterranean may want to opt for the Ventura
, a luxury ship operated by P&O Cruises
Chris Anderson of the Daily Mail had the opportunity of sampling a voyage on board the vessel and concluded that it is a "floating town centre - complete with shopping mall, theatre and art gallery and with a town centre's worth of bars, restaurants and other distractions".
The writer was also impressed by the culinary provisions of the "floating hotel block", writing that its eating places are designed to cater for all tastes "from the all-day breakfast brigade to fans of the seared scallop".
Holidaymakers choosing the vessel, which is capable of accommodating 3,100 passengers and 1,200 crewmembers, can enjoy a 14-night Mediterranean cruise in 2010 from £1,367.
The voyage will depart from Southampton and make stopovers at Barcelona, Cannes, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Palma, Valencia and Gibraltar taking in breathtaking sceneries along the way.
Cruise holidays are gaining popularity in the UK and operators are increasingly targeting younger fans.
