Our first cruise and what a wonderful experiance !!! The food ,entertainment,cabins and ship generally were first class. The cabin staff and restaurant staff were all very very efficient and friendly.Even the ships crew going about their duties on deck always said a polite good morning . Even when we were in a force 8 in the Bay of Biscay the ship did not roll at all. We enjoyed the cruise so much that we booked for the next cruise while we were on board as did the couple who went with us. The only way to describe the cruise is "the holiday of a lifetime.

We have cruised with Thomson and enjoyed 7 cruises with them, but sorry there will be no going back after this ship. Absolutely fab and because of the shopping avenue and glass lifts I didn’t get lost once. We had great seats in the Romeo and Juliet restaurant just in front of the stairs which meant we could see all the entertainment even the buffet restaurant was fab. The ice shows are well worth getting up early for the ticket and the evening entertainment was great. I thought being such a large ship the service would suffer but how wrong could I be very attentive nothing too much trouble. I did think the recommended tips were a bit much but being English I paid them, I think they worked out about £70 each for cabin steward and main waiter and £35 for wine waiter but did not realise that paying the full tips entitled you to anytime dinning which meant you could dine anytime and even request a table for two. Free room service is available to any cabin and it is great having breakfast on balcony.

Went with the family last August 2009 to the Italian Mediterranean. We liked it so much have that we have booked again this time the Spanish Mediterranean with friends in September 2010 who have never cruised with RCCL.

I cannot remember ever writing a letter of congratulations, but in this instance I feel compelled to do so. I have recently returned from a cruise I and a few more people on board the Independence of the Seas will never forget. The ship was spotlessly clean. The staff were always in good humor, always spoke with a smile and made you feel welcome. The food was second to none, always fresh and cooked perfectly to your taste and liking. The evening entertainment could easily complement any stage in the world. In a word - brilliant. The weather was a let down and a shame it was in short supply, however, it did not detract me from the enjoyment of the ship. At least I can tell people I have been in a force 9 storm with waves 40 - 50 ft. All in all it is a floating palace of which I was fortunate to be on. By the way I am wheelchair or scooter dependent and was concerned prior to going as to how I would manage. Not one problem was encountered and I could get anywhere easily. I apologise to those guests, with flattened toes, who came foul of my reversing out of lifts. Who can I blame for all this enjoyment? Only one answer Iglu. The team there did me proud. I will not be trawling the web site again. I have just asked Iglu to look for something for me for 2010

We had a great time on this cruise. It was so good to be able to start a holiday from the UK and the itinerary was just what we wanted. Two days to unwind and then time spent visiting the Canaries and Madeira. We enjoyed exploring every destination especially using the new tram link on Tenerife to La Laguna, the old capital, and climbing a volcano in Lanzarote with a small guided group. Speciality dining on board was an experience not to be missed (we had to go again as we enjoyed it so much) and we also had a very good lunch at Johnny Rockets, the 50s diner with singing dancing waiters. The food on board was so good that there were many visits to the excellent gym. Only one small complaint - No toiletries in the otherwise very satisfactory cabin.

I have just returned from a wonderful 14 day Med Cruise on the Independence of the Seas. We were really impressed with this ship. We found the staff very friendly and helpful in every way and they could not do enough for us. The food was excellent as was the entertainment each night and through the day. Our stateroom was lovely. We were glad we had booked a balcony and it was lovely to sometimes sit out and stare into the beautiful calm sea. The pool area was excellent for both children and adults. The live group which played every day at the pool was a nice touch. We enjoyed docking at the different ports of call where everything ran smoothly if you wished to go ashore. The decor, particularly the Royal Promenade, was second to none. It was so spacious that sometimes we felt were in a friendly resort on land. It was nice to dress up on the formal evenings as well as having the casual and smart casual nights. We had excellent company at our dining table which was lovely as it was nice to discuss what you had done all day. We would thoroughly recommend this ship and look forward to sailing on her again, soon.

This was our first cruise and we could not fault it. The staff were very friendly and the ship [Independence of the Seas] was spotless. The whole trip was amazing and we can’t wait to book another one.
