What's Cyber Monday?

Created in 2005, Cyber Monday marks the Monday after Thanksgiving for those in the United States, where many retailers slash prices online as opposed to in-stores like Black Friday. It hasn’t taken long to gain popularity and is now considered the biggest online shopping day of the year with countless limited-time Cyber Monday deals to be found.

With so many established international retailers participating in Cyber Monday, this online ‘holiday’ has become a phenomenon around the globe.

When is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday arrives exactly four days after Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday of November) globally, so even for the UK the date will fall between 26th November and 2nd December (an easier way to remember Cyber Monday is that it comes just after Black Friday, another worldwide annual day of shopping for great deals!).

Since the phenomenon began in the US, most Cyber Monday deals begin at 12:00am EST, though it’s a good idea to check with your favourite retailers in order to catch the best offers before they disappear.
