Established in 1870, Boston’s art museum boasts being the fifth largest in overall size in the USA and one of the most extensive collections of artworks with around 450,000 individual pieces to view, from ancient Egypt to French impressionist and Dutch golden age exhibitions.
Sydney, Nova Scotia

Sydney is the largest urban area on Cape Breton and has the charm of a waterfront community with the excitement of a city. Founded in 1785, it has developed a multitude of museums dedicated to Nova Scotia’s fascinating history as well as the ‘Good Cheer Trail’, a route of delectable, local food and wine tasting. Walking tours are a great way to see the highlights including the Miners’ Museum, Membertou Heritage Park and The Big Fiddle.

Membertou Heritage Park
Spanning 5 acres, the Membertou Heritage Park is dedicated to offering insight into the culture and history of the Membertou Mi’kmaq community. Visitors can choose from a range of tours accompanied by a knowledgeable guide and sometimes even an Elder.
Miners’ Museum
This museum is renowned for providing visitors with an immersive experience into life for a miner in Nova Scotia. With tours led by retired miners, you will go underground to the Ocean Deeps Colliery and listen to tales of this gruelling work.
Corner Brook

First surveyed by Captain James Cook in 1767, Corner Brook, Canada, is situated at the mouth of the Humber River and is rich in history. With a small population it offers a quiet, laid-back insight into Newfoundland Island lifestyle and no shortage of stunning outdoor pursuits. Corner Brook Stream trail is conveniently located in the middle of the city, while Marble Mountain provides an excellent winter sports resort, as well as summer activities.

This network of tranquil footpaths are a great way to get out in the open air and explore quaint bridges, secluded woodland walkways by the pretty waterfalls, streams and ponds. It’s particularly beautiful in autumn when the bronze leaves fall to the ground.
Marble Mountain
A popular ski resort with locals and visitors to the region alike, complete with ski lifts and a mix of pistes of varying degrees of steepness and difficulty. In addition, there are plenty of facilities to keep you fed and entertained along with a cool zipline.
Seydisfjordur

Reykjavik

Home to some of the most striking buildings you'll ever see, Reykjavik is a small city that packs a powerful punch. Take a dip in one of the many geothermal pools to truly relax, or enjoy a refreshing hike in the great outdoors. A visit to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church is a must for architecture enthusiasts, though a simple walking tour around the city will see you discovering stunning designs and street art. Don't forget to leave room for the outstanding local cuisine, from fresh seafood to grilled meats.
St Pierre and Miquelon

Saint Pierre and Miquelon is a self-governing territory of France, and a unique island experience that visitors won’t find anywhere else. Located near to Newfoundland, this quiet destination was once taken by the British numerous times before finally being back in French possession in 1816. Now, it has plenty of history and culture to be discovered including Saint-Pierre Cathedral, Ile Aux Marins, L’Arche Museum and authentic French eateries.

L’Arche Museum
L’Arche Museum is where visitors to Saint-Pierre and Miquelon will find the Archives and history of the island. Many events are often held here, such as exclusive exhibitions, workshops and shows, and visitors can also take tours of the museum.
Saint-Pierre Cathedral
Built in the early 20th century, St Pierre Cathedral is situated on the scenic harbour front of Jacques Cartier. It contains a combination of traditional and modern stained glass windows, depicting saints of France and maritime themes.
Halifax

As Nova Scotia’s capital, Halifax has a great balance between trendy, urban city adventures and a plethora of water-sports, hiking and mountain-biking. Visitors can easily explore the highlights of the city on foot, admiring the Halifax waterfront and tasting a range of craft beers at multiple breweries before enjoying the exhilarating atmosphere of live ice-hockey. Many free performances are frequently held on the harbour, such as acrobatics, dancers and magicians.

Halifax Citadel National Historic Site

We travel to the Panama Canal from San Diego ending in Fort Lauderdale 15 days later. We had 6 days at sea which was too much as very little to do on board and very repetitive. The show in the evening were average.one big plus was the very good food on board as well as great service.

went on the Far East Cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong. we had a great time but there were some gripes that most of the passengers had. 1. Wifi on board is very expensive $55 for 100mins, and very slow reminded me of dial up. took 6 mins to send 1 email. Dont bother and wait till your in port and use the free wifi in coffee shops. theirs is blazingly fast 50-100meg. 2. Drinks are expensive $6.50 for a tin of tiger beer ( cheapest ), small glass of cheap wine $8 plus they add 15% service charge to everything purchased, even a bottle of water $3.25 plus 15%. In Vietnam we bought 4 tins of tiger beer for $1.60 in a shop. 3. Trips were very good and well organised but you paid a premium for them. some were $180 per person for a 4 hour trip spent mostly on a coach. 4. On gala nights we were told to wear shirt, tie and a jacket as a minimum, but quite a few wore jeans and a T shirt and nothing was said. we thought why bother packing posh clothes if they cant be bothered to adhere to it. 5. Entertainment was good but only lasted 40 mins, if a guest came on they done their act and that was it. they could have used the ships resident entertainers to add to the show. gala nights we felt dressed up and nowhere to go. 6. when you arrive in port there are no announcements of where to disembark the ship. it uses 1 of 3 exits which are miles apart and everyone wanders up and down the corriders trying to find the correct exit. 7. on other cruises when you arrive in port they give out maps so you can locate where the town and sights are. we asked reception have they any maps and they said no you have to work it out for yourselfs. Theres few more but my fingers are giving up ,,, other than these gripes we had a good time made up by the friendly crew and the great locations we visited..

Fantastic service. Excellent choice of food and excellent quality. Staff in the Rotterdam dining room were superb. Spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly, accommodating and professional. Tours offered by Holland America were expensive. 15% service charge on drinks was outrageous! The bar staff must have been on incentives for sales of drinks. Internet service also expensive so we didn't bother. (Most good hotels offer this free).
