I dont know how or why Silverseas think their ships are 5 - 6 star and warrent the higher price. This is the second time with Silverseas and will be the last. The ships are old and tired and i was informed before we went away the Silver Wind had a refit last year. What their idea of a refit is i do not know as it was difficult to see what they had done. we had problems with the bathroom in that the plug did not work and water did not stay in the basin. twice it was going to be sorted and on disembarking it still did not work Their speciality restuarant cost $60 per head and was not anything special other than a bigger menu and does not warrent the charges We have been on many cruises and the ships cabin are no different to a Fred Olson ship which you easily mistake as the same ship builder built both and the difference is 2k to 3k dearer than FO The most important thing is their food. The buffet is only luke warm and very small varity of hot meals. on one occasion their was the carvery for meat and no potatoes of any sort and looked like warmed up veg. On arrival we were told the lunch was still available. this was an appalling first greeting. The supposedly hot meat was cold lamp chops which it could be seen that they had attempted to reheat as they had congealed and stuck together. I tried a couple of chops and only got the first mouthful in to decide this was rank. This first meal gave me stomach problems for a couple of days A lot seems to be reheated as one could see that veg left from the night before ended up on the buffett the next lunch time. I also believe they had no idea how to check tempertures
