Staff Review - My balcony cabin was super spacious, clean, well-equipped and had a great view. The Test Kitchen was my top pick of dining venues, with great service, creative dishes, and a really pleasant environment, and Razzle Dazzle for tasty breakfasts with a great choice of options in a jazzy space. During the day I was happy chilling around on different decks and bars as there are plenty of spaces and choices. In terms of entertainment I really enjoyed the comedy and dance performances with great costumes, singing and audience participation. To sum up I think Virgin Voyages are fantastic when it comes to the very modern technology on the ship, the great food choices, especially for healthy eaters, the wonderful crew and well arranged on-shore visits. Staff Review - It was a lovely balcony cabin with a nice bed, TV and and iPad remote control with which I could control the TV, lights, curtains and also order room service. Razzle Dazzle was my favourite dining venue, as it had plenty of vegetarian options, and the Pizza Place where you can go almost anytime of the day and order a customised pizza of your choice of toppings. Amazing both of these and other dining options are included in the standard price! I also loved the gym with the latest equipment and running track, and relaxing afterwards in the wonderful Redemption Spa. In terms of nightlife The Manor nightclub has live DJs and loads of entertainment at the Red Room theatre. Kash, Sales

What an amazing ship to have gone on for our first ever cruise! The facilities onboard were brilliant, we had a cabin with a balcony which had its own hammock to relax in. All of the restaurants that we are at were incredible, the food was first class and we didn’t have a single bad meal! The staff throughout the shop were so attentive, polite and hard working, they were always happy to help with any issue or question. The ship has a lot of fitness classes that are included for you to book, the only downside I could see was that if you didn’t really want to do fitness activities then there wasn’t a great deal of other activities to do. The show we saw was very good and entertaining with some amazing performances, the scarlet night was also good fun. We had no excursions due to this just being an all at sea cruise, with excursions in place then this may solve the small issue of a lack of activities that are fitness based. I would definitely recommend this cruise to other but try to book and activities or restaurants as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. The virgin voyages app was very temperamental and caused a lot of issues for others as was continually crashing, the app is an integral part of the cruise so hopefully this will be improved soon!

DAY 4
26 May 2025
Take time to enjoy all the amazing facilities the ship has to offer
Rome (Civitavecchia)
DAY 5
27 May 2025
One of the most famous cities in the world, Rome has been an epicentre of politics, art, architecture, and food for thousands of years. It is home to some of the most well-known historic sites such as the Colosseum, the pantheon, and Vatican City. It’s easy to spend a day in a hundred different ways in Rome, whether you’re looking to sip on incredible wine and people-watch, indulge in decadent pasta, pizza, risotto, and gelato, or if you’re eager to wander around the streets soaking in all the history you can. Rome is one capital city which will always leave you wanting more.
Things to do in Rome (Civitavecchia):
Vatican City
Found in the heart of Rome, Vatican City is the smallest independent state in Europe at just 0.44km² with a population of 1,000 people. It acts as headquarters to the Roman Catholic Church and is home to The Apostolic Palace - the Pope’s residence –the Vatican Museums, St Peter’s Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel.
St Peter's Basilica
Within Vatican City is one of the biggest churches in the world; St. Peter’s Basilica. Accommodating up to 20,000 people, this is where the Pope delivers services. Its 136 metre high dome was designed by Michelangelo, and was completed in 1614.
Colosseum
The colosseum was opened in 80 A.D. with 100 days of exciting games. It was mostly used for gladiatorial combat and fights with animals until around the 6th century when it began to fall into disrepair. It was then used to store building materials until the 18th century, when the papacy decided it should be preserved. As it stands now, however, more than two-thirds of the structure has been destroyed.
Sistine Chapel
Known the world-over for its elaborate, 15th century artwork courtesy of Michelangelo, Botticelli, Luca, and Perugino, the Sistine Chapel is where new Popes are elected and ordained. It is located within Vatican City, inside The Apostolic Palace.
Michelangelo's Pietà
This Michelangelo sculpture is located inside St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. It depicts the body of Jesus after he has been crucified, being held by the Virgin Mary. The statue was originally commissioned by Jean de Billheres – a French cardinal – as a memorial for his tomb.
Pantheon
This is one of the most iconic buildings in Rome. There are myths surrounding the building of the original Pantheon, but the structure we see today was built in 120 A.D. by Emperor Hadrian. It was created as a Pagan temple to “honour all Gods” – which is the translation of “Pantheon”. In the year 609 it was converted to a Christian church, although it is still widely known as the Pantheon.
Piazza Navona
This popular public square is located where the (now fallen) Stadium of Domitian once stood, in 86 A.D. Since then it has been developed into a social gathering spot, adorned by three magnificent fountains that were commissioned in the 16 and 17th centuries. These are Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, Fontana del Moro, and Fontana del Nettuno.
Marina Di Carrara
DAY 6
28 May 2025
Marina di Carrara is a seaside hamlet in the municipality of Carrara, in northern Tuscany. Known in the past as Marina di Avenza, in honor of the largest district of the city, it was born at the behest of Duke Francesco III d'Este. From here you can reach the majestic Monte Sagro mountain, visit the white marble quarries in Carrara, and the Roman Amphitheatre in Ortonovo, Luni, in the nearby La Spezia province. This historic attraction dates back to the 2nd century.
Things to do in Marina Di Carrara:
Fantiscritti
The Cave of Fantiscritti, in the municipality of Carrara, gives visitors the chance to see the magnificence of white marble. The cave owes its name to a bas-relief sculpture from the Roman period that depicts three divinities ("fanti"), accompanied by a written dedication in Latin ("scritti").
Monte Sagro
The beautiful mountain, Monte Sagro, one of the main sanctuaries of prehistoric Liguria, belongs to the chain of the Apuan Alps, in upper Tuscany. Almost 1,800 meters high, it consists largely of high quality marble.
Roman Amphitheatre of Luni
The Roman amphitheatre of Luni is located in the nearby Ligurian province of La Spezia, within the area of the National Archaeological Museum. It houses numerous archaeological finds, many of which date back to around the 2nd century BC.
