Wonderful fairy tale cruise. Amazing staff. very comfortable cabin - tea in bed in the morning. Fantastic sights. Food was out of this world and we loved dressing up for the formal nights. Lots to do, good shopping on board. Met loads of lovely people. Door to door service was excellent. Our cabin steward was very attentive This cruise was faultless , thank you.

The most wonderful service from a Phillipino crew who were unbelievably attentive and polite. The cabin was excellent, The food was the best I've ever had on a ship. We were lucky with the weather too.

Best of the Baltic cruise, Saga Sapphire, 8th - 23rd September, 2016 Checked in at 3.15 in Dover. A very nice outside cabin, 7038, and just a short walk to Reception, the Aviators bar, and the Pole to Pole restaurant. We sailed at 4.00 and, not long after clearing Dover harbour, we were treated by Saga to a 15 minute flying display by two Spitfire fighter aircraft from Biggin Hill. Amazing! This was our third voyage on Saga Sapphire in 2 years, and it was rather nice to see familiar faces amongst the staff and to be greeted by name. Our prior (excellent) experiences were repeated on this 15 day voyage.....excellent service, good food and quality complimentary wines. If you wished, you could order wines from the standard wine list, with a £10 per bottle discount,but the complimentary wines were so good that this would only be necessary for celebrating a very special occasion. We visited seven ports, Stockholm, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallin, Ventspils, Gdansk and Wismar.....all interesting destinations although Ventspils is probably still climbing the learning curve for tourism. It was our second visit there and my wife and quite like its quirkiness (especially the bovine street art!) We were also impressed with the flower displays all around town. With calm seas and slight winds for the whole voyage, we could not have wished for better on this cruise holiday. Just a few spots of rain for 20 minutes in St Petersburg, and that was the totally of 'bad' weather. I have to mention the efforts of the catering staff and the hard work they put in for lunchtime events outdoors on the Verandah terrace, and for the fabulous Russian Buffet that was put in place in the Pole to Pole restaurant on our overnight stop in St Petersburg. The entertainment was of high quality. We enjoyed the Greek classical guitarist, Dimitris Davakallis, and the Polish violinist. Michael Bacala who each gave two excellent performances. Also aboard were the Think Pink Duo (Marta and Gabi Onali) from Rumania and, along with many other guests, enjoyed dancing to their music late at night in the Drawing Room. They very kindly burnt us a CD of some of their recordings so that we can continue enjoying their music post-cruise. This was a truly enjoyable holiday. Thankyou Saga.

For incredible views out towards France, head to the White Cliffs of Dover. Reaching 350 feet, this prominent attraction is popular with tourists and locals alike due to the fantastic walking trails. Within easy reach of the castle and port, its striking appearance makes it a must see when stopping off or cruising from Dover.
Connaught Park
Alternatively, you can head inland to Connaught Park; a spacious park that has lots of trails, a playground, tennis courts and breathtaking views out towards Dover and the channel. On sunny days, cruise ships can be seen docked at the port.
Skagen, Denmark
DAY 3
Since the 19th century, Skagen has lured visitors from all around the world for its breathtaking landscapes and beautiful beaches. Nowadays, travellers visit for all this as well as the unique neighbourhoods, array of museums and fantastic shopping. Skagen's artistic flair makes for great photo opportunities, but if you're looking for more active excursions, enjoy a guided hike, a full-day horse ride or water sports at the beach.

Skagens Museum
Showcasing an array of Scandinavian art and collections, the Skagens Museum is a popular place to visit for those wanting to discover late 19th and early 20th century local art. Centrally located, the museum’s collection is continuously rotating.
Tilsandede Kirke
A church honouring Saint Lawrence of Rome from the late 14th century has become known as the Sand-Covered Church and is a popular photo spot with tourists visiting the town. Located 2 km from the centre, it's worth a visit if you have the time to wander down to it whilst in Skagen.
Skagen Gray Lighthouse
With a height of 46 metres, Skagen Lighthouse is the second-largest structure of its kind in Denmark. It is also the perfect location for anybody seeking a breathtaking panoramic view that encompasses both the entire city and the sea. Furthermore, it also has a lovely cafe where a variety of foods and beverages are served, as well as a store with numerous items for those who want to feed the local birds.
Copenhagen
DAY 4
Comprising unique architecture, scenic canals and a wide range of attractions within easy reach of the cruise port, Copenhagen is often hailed as the best city in the world in which to live. No matter your age or interests, and no matter the weather, there's something for everyone - take a bus tour to get your bearings, then explore royal palaces, museums and parks. Nyhavn is an iconic spot for photos, cafes and culture, and breathtaking 18th-century architecture.

Little Mermaid Statue
The Little Mermaid sculpture, perhaps one of Copenhagen's most well-known tourist destinations, took inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen's well-known fairy tale. The Little Mermaid, a gift from Danish brewer Carl Jacobsen to the City of Copenhagen, was unveiled on August 23, 1913 and is located on Langelinie Pier.
Tivoli Gardens
Situated in the centre of Copenhagen, Tivoli Gardens is a theme park with rides, a beautiful lake, shops, cafes and more. The third-oldest operational amusement park in the world, it dates back to 1843. A magical attraction that’s worth a visit when you’re in Copenhagen, it has something for all ages.
National Museum of Denmark
Denmark's main cultural history museum, the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen, contains a variety of exhibits, from Danish artefacts to international exhibits. Located near Strget in Copenhagen's downtown, it's the perfect day out for those wanting to learn more about Denmark's captivating past.
Stockholm
DAY 6
Combining ancient history and architecture with modern urban flair, Stockholm is known as one of the most welcoming cities in the world. Culture vultures, in particular, will be delighted by the range of attractions on offer, such as the fairytale-esque Old Town, the extravagant royal palace and the Vasa Museum. For ultimate relaxation, head to a Swedish sauna to soak in an ambient setting. Just don't forget to leave time for authentic Swedish street food!

Royal Palace
One of most impressive palaces in Europe, the Royal Palace of Stockholm holds the majority of the monarchy's formal receptions year-round, as well as being the King of Sweden's official home. The palace, designed to resemble a Roman palace, was constructed in the baroque style by architect Nicodemus Tessin. With a state apartment overlooking the city and smaller living rooms facing the inner courtyard, the palace includes more than 600 rooms spread across eleven storeys.
Fotografiska
Housed in an impressive brick building, the Fotografiska is a photography museum filled with contemporary exhibitions. Showcasing world-class photography, this unique attraction is located within the centre of the city.
ABBA Museum

Helsinki
DAY 8
Boasting the sophisticated style and charm of a Scandinavian city, Helsinki is home to unique architecture, countless open parks, lavish shopping opportunities and some of the best seafood in the world. Grab a cup of rich Finnish coffee from the popular Market Square, pick up some handcrafted souvenirs and start exploring. We recommend the Chapel of Silence, Helsinki City Museum, the Design District and Helsinki University's Botanical Gardens.

Helsinki Cathedral
The Helsinki Cathedral is a Finnish Evangelical Lutheran cathedral of the Diocese of Helsinki and is situated in Senate Square in the neighbourhood of Kruununhaka. The church was initially constructed between 1830 and 1852 as a memorial to Tsar Nicholas I of Russia, the Grand Duke of Finland.
Museum of Finland
In the National Museum of Finland you’ll find an array of artefacts dating all the way back to the Stone Age. Objects which showcase Finland’s fascinating cultural history, it’s housed within an impressive building designed in a romantic, Finnish national style.
Art Museum
The Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma is located within Mannerheimintie in Helsinki. A quirky, modern building, it forms part of the Finnish National Gallery and houses contemporary art from an array of different international artists.
St. Petersburg - Overnight onboard

St Petersburg is all about extravagant and colourful architecture, renowned artwork and delectable dining. A full day tour is the best way to see as much of this imperial city as possible, with guides often beginning the experience with a visit to the Rostral Columns. With over a thousand years of history, Tallinn has struck a fantastic balance between old and new attractions, making it an ideal port of call. To get stuck into Estonian history and culture, visit the Estonian Architecture Museum and Tallinn's Old Town, both boasting fascinating insights into the city. Head to the TV Tower for unrivalled views across the Baltic, and for relaxing in the sun, Pirita Promenade will take you to the sandy beach for sunbathing and swimming.

Art Museum
Situated within a 18th-century Baroque palace, the Kadriorg Art Museum showcases international art dating between the 16th and 20th century. Built in 1725, the art museum was designed by Mikhail Zemtsov and Gaetano Chiaveri.

Taillin’s largest orthodox church, the Aleksander Nevski Katedraal is situated in the heart of the city. Built by Mikhail Preobrazhensky in an extraordinary and colourful Russian style, it dates to the late 19th century and is still an active church on Toompea hill.
TV Tower
If you want breathtaking views of Tallinn, head up the Tallinn Tv Tower. An impressive structure and landmark, it soars 314m in the air and features a viewing platform on the 21st level with glass flooring.
Gdansk (Gdynia), Poland
DAY 14
Beginning as a humble fishing village, Gdynia has since established itself as one of Poland's main harbours. Though almost all attractions are modern and contemporary, visitors will find traces of historic architecture, such as the 17th-century neo-Gothic manor house. Explore the numerous museums to dive in deeper on the past at the Warship Museum, or if you're just looking to relax and enjoy leisurely outdoor activities, head to the city beach.

Gdynia Aquarium
With over 2000 fish and other aquatic animals, the Gdynia Aquarium is a wonderful place to spend your day whilst in the vibrant port city. Part of the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute, no matter who you're travelling with, you'll have a great time exploring it.
Science Centre

A good way to get your bearings of this port city is through a hop-on-hop-off bus tour, taking you to the top landmarks in comfort. To discover the history of Kiel, head to the Maritime Museum and the German Submarine U-995. For a laidback wander and good food, visit Kiellinie.

Dating to the 17th century, the Zoological Museum in the University of Kiel is home to an array of exhibits, including dinosaur skeletons.
