Singapore
Singapore is a melting pot of people and cultures. Malay, Chinese, English and Tamil are official languages; Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Hinduism and Christianity are the major faiths. Ever fascinating, Singapore boasts diverse cultures, luxurious hotels, and some of the finest duty-free shopping in the world.
6 Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang)
Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang)
For Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur cruise ships must dock at the deepwater cruise port Kelang, which is 90 minutes drive away. This, though, is good news for cruise visitors because, along the way to the capital, you not only see the magnificent Salahuddin ‘Blue’ Mosque - the largest in southeast Asia with room for 16,000 worshippers - but also visit the Batu Caves where a stone staircase with 272 steps leads up to a Hindu Shrine. If you make the effort, you are rewarded with the company of scores of monkeys which live around the caves.
7 Langkawi
Langkawi
Langkawi, officially known as Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah is an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. Only four of the islands are inhabited - Pulau Langkawi (the main island), Pulau Tuba, Pulau Rebak and Pulau Dayang Bunting

Cochin
The view of the harbour is immediately recognisable even if you have never cruised to this uniquely picturesque Indian port before. For the lines of fishing nets gracefully hanging down from bamboo frames along the waterfront have inspired artists and hotographers ever since this Chinese fishing style was imported into Indias Kerala region. It is a magical welcome to a mystical place, especially its old town - Fort Kochi (Cochin). This not only has a 16th century Portuguese-built church but a 17th century synagogue for the small community that still remains from the Jewish settlers who arrived 2,000 years ago.

The city of Salalah is known as the “perfume capital of Arabia.” The city is a popular destination for tourism due to the natural attractions of the nearby mountains and abundant stands of frankincense trees lining mountain wadi courses. Around the city and into the mountains the countryside is lush and green during the monsoon period with the vegetation supporting herds of cattle. The climate supports wildlife often more commonly associated with East Africa, such as leopards and hyenas. The beaches and coastline are also major attractions for scuba diving and bird watching.

Beautiful lady of the seas, the QM2 is the ultimate way to cross the Atlantic. We were lucky enough to spend Xmas & NY on her to NYC & the Caribbean. Stateroom was lovely, food was delicious in all restaurants. Drinks/wine were very expensive. A cheaper choice should have been available. House wine was £10 a glass! You can bring own on board but will be charged £9 corkage at your table. A high standard of cleanliness overall, wonderful entertainment from all the acts except the comedian at the end of our cruise who wasn’t a bit funny! Bands and orchestra superb. All in all a fabulous cruise 5* cheaper

The ship was full, and the service in the restaurant was rather slow. There wasn’t a great deal of variety in the entertainment, and the regulars singers were not that good, meaning their shows were mediocre. Highlights were The Barricade Boys and Midge Ute, and the orchestra were good. The ballroom was very crowded, and the dances didn’t start until quite late in the evening. Drinks were very expensive, especially once the tax was added to the price quoted. Disembarkation was a total shambles with luggage not being where it should be, and traffic through the port being held up by one of the port gates being closed, leading to delays. I only justify got to the coach station in time for my 12.20 pm coach!

High standard of cuisine and lectures. This time I missed the classical concerts (last November more classical concerts were offered). Excellent service in Britannia Restaurant and at the state room.
