1 Southampton
2-3 At Sea - 2 days
4 Lisbon
Lisbon
The capital of Portugal, Lisbon has such highlights as Eiffel's cast Iron elevator and fascinating moorish baazars.
5-6 At Sea
7 Naples
Naples
Cruising into the Bay of Naples is a memorable experience. The Naples port is overlooked by the imposing Sant Elmo medieval castle, high up on Vemero Hill, as well as the 13th century Castel Nuovo, which is right next to the Naples cruise terminal in the heart of the city. Within a short walk, to the left of the terminal, are three of Naples best-known landmarks: Castel Nuovo, the 17th century Royal Palace (Palazzo Reale), and the elaborate 18th century San Carlo Opera House. To reach Naples’ fascinating old town, go straight past Castel Nuovo and then over the Piazza Municipio.
8 Messina Strait - Cruising
9 At Sea
10-11 Haifa - Overnight onboard
Haifa - Overnight onboard
There's a popular Israeli saying: "Haifa works, Jerusalem prays and Tel Aviv plays." This is not strictly fair to Haifa, the country's third-largest city. While it's home to Israel's biggest and busiest port and has an undeniably bustling, business-like air, there's also a real resort feel about the place. The centre sprawls over the steep, lush face of Mount Carmel; the waterfront is lined with wide, sandy beaches; and the restaurants are famous throughout Israel.
12-13 Port Said, Egypt - Cruise by - Overnight onboard
13 Suez Canal Transit
Suez Canal Transit
Lying at the Red Sea end of the Suez Canal, the busy Egyptian port of Suez can also be your starting point for exciting trips to Cairo and the Pyramids at Giza. If your ship goes through the Canal, be out on deck throughout the transit, as it is one of the world’s most fascinating maritime experiences, creating the bizarre impression that you are sailing right through the dry heart of the desert. The present, 101-mile-long Canal took 15 years to build, was completed in 1869 and shaved a mere 7,000 miles off the journey from England to India. It is the second to cross the Isthmus of Suez – the first was constructed in the 5th century BC and was in use until the 8th century.
13 Suez
14 Aqaba (for Petra)
Aqaba (for Petra)
Aqaba, an ancient city carved from ochre-coloured sandstone cliffs, guaranteed to mesmerise.

27 Colombo
Colombo
Colombo is the largest city and former capital of Sri Lanka. It is located on the west coast of the island and adjacent to Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, the capital. Colombo is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and colonial buildings and ruins and a city population of 647,100.
28-30 At Sea
31 Phuket
32 Penang
33 Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang)
Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang)
For Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur cruise ships must dock at the deepwater cruise port Kelang, which is 90 minutes drive away. This, though, is good news for cruise visitors because, along the way to the capital, you not only see the magnificent Salahuddin ‘Blue’ Mosque - the largest in southeast Asia with room for 16,000 worshippers - but also visit the Batu Caves where a stone staircase with 272 steps leads up to a Hindu Shrine. If you make the effort, you are rewarded with the company of scores of monkeys which live around the caves.
34-35 Singapore - Overnight onboard
Singapore - Overnight onboard
Singapore is a melting pot of people and cultures. Malay, Chinese, English and Tamil are official languages; Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Hinduism and Christianity are the major faiths. Ever fascinating, Singapore boasts diverse cultures, luxurious hotels, and some of the finest duty-free shopping in the world.

My second trip to NY on QM2 Check in was terrible- nearly 2 hours from arriving at Terminal to getting onboard. Much ,much worse than last time Generally everything was what you would expect of QM2. Good food ( but some dinners were disappointing) ,fine entertainment and speakers, Lord Mervin King was a star Dining for dinner was a disappointment as few guests at table for 10 turned up. Why I have no idea. However met many interesting guests over breakfast. Why do not Cunard have a section of dining room for open dining like Celebrity? Overall a great way to get to NY where I have family but I personally feel the ship a bit overrated . Cunard made no apology for the lengthy check in delays - queues of 200 yards and nowhere to sit and which got the journey off to a bad start If this is now normal I would be reluctant to book with them again

This was the first time my wife and I have been on a cruise and I think we have gone right to the top of the pile. The QM2 was a fantastic ship and we had an amazing time on board sailing to New York. The choice of food in all the restaurants we were allocated was fantastic. We had the formal setting of the Britannia Restaurant with set meal times or the buffet choice in the Kings Court and Carinthia Lounge with more flexible times. The entertainment on board was immense. A full days programme of talks and classes was available which kept us busy on most days or just chill and relax in the many lounges when we wanted. The evening entertainment in the Royal Court Theatre was fantastic and just the right length of time in one hour. Our highlights were the shows and interview performed comedian Mike Doyle. A natural funny bloke. As well as the talks and interview given by Lord King the former head of the Bank of England. But there was so much more to see and do on board. A fantastic experience.

An iconic ship with all the bells and whistles. A little too large for my liking but very good in most respects.
