We very very fortunate that this was our second cruise on Queen Elizabeth this year (the first being in June). The itinerary to the Canary Islands was great. Having the sun on our backs in October was a real bonus. The food was excellent although the size of the portions in the Britannia Restaurant was inconsistent. Sometimes the main course was an enormous feast other times a paltry serving. The two disappointments were 1. the considerable increase in the cost of drinks since June and 2. the Entertainment Team’s lack of engagement with guests. I normally treat myself to a wine package but this time I restricted myself to one glass of wine with dinner. In a perverse way I suppose Cunard were looking after my health. With one exception the Entertainment Team had completely changed from June. They seemed to enjoy each others company perhaps because they had trained together and created a ‘team spirit’. They danced and laughed together but largely failed to engage with the guests. I have experienced this lack of engagement on other British cruise lines but never before on Cunard whose staff are usually renowned for their friendliness and helpfulness. I looked in the public areas for the who’s who photographs naming the team members but unusually found none. The exception, a Brazilian lad, almost made up for the others. He spoke to single guests and was always ready to lend a hand.

Just returned from 14 day cruise to the Canaries. Booked with Iglu - thank you Louise Gale - you always give a great service. Have already booked for next year and have some more in view so will be in touch again. On now to the cruise, excellent, we were on board within 10 mins of arriving at Southampton. Had lunch in the Lido and then went to our Cabin, everything ready and luggage arrived. Were unpacked and relaxing on a lovely day well before the safety drill. From there on we experienced exceptionally calm seas and wonderful weather, just what is needed before the onset of winter. We were greeted by the Bellboys dressed in their red uniforms and the service on board was first class from then on. The ships company were always cheerful and greeted us with a smile and a good afternoon etc and usually by name as well. Never ceases to amaze us that they always remember our names , (hopefully for the right reasons). One small point that we did find and that was that there was not quite such a good selection on the Main Dining Room menu in the evenings as there was on the Queen Victoria in April/May, there seemed to be an awful lot of pork dishes. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the ship is coming in for refurbishment soon. We disembarked at every port and had some wonderful excursions, some with Cunard Excursions and some we did on our own. We especially enjoyed Mount Teide when we had a wonderful guide who taught us a lot about volcanos and the geology of the area, it would not have been the same without him. We will return to the Canaries as there are several things we still want to do. It is not all black sand and volcanos. Hope this gives a little insight to our lovely voyage I give if 5+

I was disappointed with the cabins view We have never had to look at the tops of grubby lifeboats before. You could have mentioned that when i booked. The food was not very good. My fault I know when you have had the best it is hard to come down. In my opinion It's worth paying more for good food. We would never go with Cunard again.
