Ventura ReviewsView Cruise Deals
Found negotiating my way around the ship very confusing. Have cruised twice before with other companies and quickly found my way around the other ships. Cannot fault the ship otherwise, staff and dining experiences faultless. Was unable to access my cabin on arrival at the ship as it was being cleaned. I did arrive rather early though(11am). Small tip would be to take hand luggage with change of clothes/ sandals/ sun cream,so you can go and enjoy the arrival port. It saves you waiting for you're luggage to arrive or cabin to be ready.
My partners first cruise ..... She says when's the next one
Fabulous ship with so much to do, they cater for everyone. Shows are excellent and cabins stunning. Lovely bed and the TV with navigation was very informative. Staff are so friendly and helpful, in fact they made the holiday. Food, where do i start, my partner is lactosse intolerant yet she was catered for incredibly. The Bay Tree restaurant is excellent and variety of food second to none. I would recommend however going when the kids are still in school as our second week on the ship was a little crowded. We did miss out on certain shows because we couldnt get in to certain venues. Lovely holiday though. Highly recommended and total value for money. Thanks P&O, we will be back.
Had a brilliant time on the Ventura. From the ease of booking, everything went to plan. Thank you Iglu for a very good service.
Great cruise and wonderful service. Entertainment a little disappointing at times. We took port trips at Kotor and Corfu - both good, though Corfu Winery & Sights tour allowed only about 20 minutes in the old town -but arrived back at the ship 20 minutes earlier than scheduled.
Just returned from Italy and Croatia. P&O deliver excellent customer care at a reasonable price, right up to the point of your return airport. Ship good, food good and organisation good.
Had first cruise on Ventura in May - around Italy, across to Dubrovnik then finishing off in Venice. Loved every minute of it, met good people and ate delicious food. Loved the gym and spa, loved the early morning and late evening walks around the deck. Excursions were quite pricey but enjoyed them all. Would love to go cruising again!
Just returned from a week on Ventura, nice ship but really poor staff. No one had a smile except our cabin steward. Were told by staff that they are understaffed and not getting days off, so moral is low. Food quality was ok certainly not up to Norwegian Cruise Line standards and entertainment no where near as good as Royal Caribbean, if I am to rate this cruise it was ok.
First time booked with Iglu, excellent service and already booked another cruise with them with Holland America. Just returned from P&O Ventura after 2 weeks from 4 June Venice to Venice. We last cruised on the Ventura 4 years ago and have to say the standard not so good including food in Saffron Restaurant. We had opted for freedom dining and the 'bleep' system works well but the service often rushed but poor, as the staff having up to 3 sittings at each table each night. Ports of call very good but the tours very expensive so do your own thing at most ports. Our cabin Steward was on his first contract but did an excellent job. We purchased a wine package and assured that there would be enough of a particular wine (the only one we drink) but ran out before we finished our 12 bottles and one served instead inferior. On last day we had to vacate our cabin at 07:00 but we were not leaving for the airport until 18:30. Not sure if we want to go with P&O again as we have been with much better cruise lines.
We found a last minute deal at a very low price and went on a two week cruise to the Med. Our first time on a larger ship. We found it good, although there are more facilities than on the smaller ships, there are not enough. This was the first time we were turned away from the theatre because it was full, the first time we had to queue for various things and also the first time we had trouble finding a free sunbed. (Why do no cruise lines seem to follow their own policies of clearing away towels reserving sun beds for hours on end?) The self service restaurants were even more of a bun-fight than usual, so we only ate there twice. The cabin steward was brilliant, as they always are. The cabin was fairly standard size, although the bathroom was very small, giving more wardrobe space. There was a coffee table in the wardrobe area which was pretty useless as there was no room for it in the room itself. All the ports were great although we were disappointed with the 'Pompeii on your own' excursion which only gave us just over an hour in Pompeii itself. (You need at least 4 times that!) Kotor in Montenegro is a real gem - so beautiful! Photographers were ubiquitous but the prices were ridiculously expensive, so we didn't buy any. If they had been say £5 each, we may have spent £20 - £30 on them. On this ship that would have bought just two! Headliners theatre company are outstanding - amazingly talented. Especially their Destination Dance production. Other entertainment not bad. P&O are definitely cutting back - smailer portions in the restaurants, more expensive shore excursions, fewer speakers, etc. But because of our last minute deal we still got excellent value for money and would definitely do it again. In fact we probably will!
