Ventura Reviews
View Cruise DealsEnjoyed being back on Ventura again. The staff are excellent and happy. Feel the ship now needs things like the carpets in the cabin areas and corridors need replacing. Smell of sewage in some areas. But Ventura has a good layout and its easy to find your way around.
Great crew and food. Poor sign posting aboard the ship so it took 2 weeks to find my way around ! Sparse entertainment unlike Britannia in 2023. Excursions good and value for money. Excellent organisation for boarding/ disembarkation Poor dated small TV in cabin with not a lot of choice of films/programs. Crew worked very hard to stop the gastro-intestinal bug from spreading ( I was ok)
The cruise was very good thanks. The food was excellent. But the boat needs a bit of TLC. Old looking in places, toilets are rather smelly at times only saw a cleaner once in two weeks, saw lots all the time on other ships I've cruised on. Entertainment could be better especially in the Havana bar. Does it really need a photo area as big on deck 7 . I'm not sure that it is fully staffed although I did here it was. A lot of walking involved when getting off the shop even before you get anywhere as it tiring. I didn't get off at two ports because of this.
Sailed on this ship approx 10 years ago and she was fab. Now looking decidedly tired and dated I’m afraid. Food however was exceptional 👍
All the ports visited were enjoyable. Nice cabin with Lots of wardrobe space. But could do with some refurbishment
Easy to negotiate the ship, balcony views were good, boarding was fine considering the coach was late arriving. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Ok so let's just say the Ventura does need a complete refit. She's very tired round the edge ship. But the staff food itinerary and atmosphere is lovely. Friendly and clean. Captain was fun. All in all a fab holiday to canaries and 2stone heavier 😂 will be going again with p n o
We had a wonderful time, our first cruise, we got married onboard and it was amazing, all the staff were fabulous, the food was great, the ship was beautiful and spotless, the process of embarking and disembarking was so easy. The kids clubs were great, we will definitely be back 😀😀
Great experience this time. Lovely staff who worked endlessly to ensure guests are happy. We had no problems with our cabin. I wanted a thinner pillow and that was supplied ready for that night. Everything was replenish if it looked low. Lovely and tasty meals this time. I hesitated booking this trip as previously on this ship, the meals were very bland. Guests even joked that they could be eating anything if blind folded as everything tasted the same. However, very different this time. Great curries in particular, lovely roasts, nice selection of seafood at the Waterside. Some strange combinations at the restaurant but hey, there are alternative restaurants if we didn’t like the menu. Service slow in the restaurant though. We had to allow about 2 hrs between sitting down and finishing. We had to skip dessert or coffee a couple of times as it took too long. Lovely varieties overall food wise. My only complain was that prior to entering Waterside (buffet) the hand washing water was way too hot at times. They should have put some kind of heat restrictor on those taps. Destination wise, P&O supplies shuttles from the port at some stops if booked Select fare upwards. We heard a few moans as the shuttles doesn’t take guests into the town area as they did previously. Some guests would struggle to get into town from where the shuttles stop. Some recognised where it stopped and sat on the bus to return to the ship.
A lovely ship, with a friendly crew. A good variety of food in the buffets as well. Not much going on on tbd sea days. Could do with some illustrated talks about history of places we visited.
