Ventura Reviews
View Cruise DealsVentura in need of refurbishment. Cracked basin and stained bath in bathroom (superior deluxe cabin). Carpet and settee in need of refreshing. No evening turndown, room serviced once daily. Only one speaker, who was an employee on the ship. Only singers/dancers in the theatre, not a lot of variety. In buffet area coffee, water, wine machines often "under maintenance." Also some of the public toilets.
The cruise was amazing. Suited our needs, very relaxing. All the staff we came into contact with, were all so lovely, polite, accommodating, friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. First class service. Food choice was brilliant, always something you could eat. Would highly recommend cruising with P&O. All in alll we had a fantastic holiday.
My first ever cruise so had no idea what to expect and therefore am unable to say whether this ship is better. What I do know is that I had an absolutely fabulous time. I found the crew went above and beyond, nothing seemed to be a problem. Where ever I went, there was something going on. Particularly enjoyed the spa and gym which is just as well as I ate half my body weight in food. Visited 3 countries in 7 days.
This was our first cruise experience which we overall thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be booking another.
We had a lovely holiday and were pleased with the way Iglu handled our booking. We used you before and would recommend you to anyone interested in cruising. This was our second booking with you since November 2021 and are currently looking to book an other cruise within the next couple of days.
Food very good, good variety. Entertainment was good.Cabin was big. Tv in cabin was good free films.Casino was very small no Texas Holden Poker or Poker Tournaments like alot of other Cruises.
Our first time with P & O and we were left disappointed. It was our first time in an inside cabin so the cabin might seem good to others but although it had everything required (except a magnifying mirror) it was very small. Ample wardrobe space but nowhere to sit other than the bed. This is down to preference though - for us in future - more space is required. That being said our cabin steward was very good and helpful. The rest of the service left a lot to be desired though. We waited anything up to 20 minutes to get served for a drink on a regular basis but particularly in the Havana club where they just did not have enough staff on to cope. It's great that you do not require to tip on P & O but this definitely reflects in their service. There was no real desire to please you as a customer and it showed in the staff's behaviour. The lack of choice of food was a big disappointment for us, particularly in the cafe area of the ship. Very little choice, cramped serving areas and little variation in meals as well. The coffee shop was probably one of the best places but was often busy so getting a seat could be a struggle. That being said other people who had cruised P & O said it was their worse one they had ever done with them so maybe we just had a bad first experience, but having sailed with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity before we would definitely not rate this more than a 3 star experience at best. Thankfully we did have a good time - but it could have been so much better with some tweaks made.
Sailed 17th November first time with P&O on Ventura. We had an inside cabin which felt very spacious with all the mirrors in the room. Food was good, staff pleasant and our entertainment was excellent. The Stephen Mullhern illusion show was amazing. If I had to have one negative comment it would be how rude some of the older passengers were about children on the cruise, we were a family of six my grandaughters being 5 and 8 in one of the pools a older person said to my daughter why aren't those kids in school I come at this time so I don't have to see them, there were other comments made or the kids were just ignored and I can assure you my grandaughters are very well behaved. Would I recommend this ship a definite yes! Planning a trip for later this year in a balcony cabin and really looking forward to it.
First time aboard Ventura. You can not fault the staff, they are amazing. Always on hand for your every need. The entertainment is a lot to be desired. The comedian was really bad even though we were promised a ‘risqué evening. Not sure he knew what ‘risqué meant. The Ed Sheehan tribute act was similar in content. He really needed to practice more. However if you were into keep fit, aerobics, yoga,Pilates, cycling etc there was plenty of early morning events for you. Also if you were into health information on wrinkle free skin, back pain, acupuncture, how to look after your feet, maintain a flat stomach and how you can improve health with diet then this is the Cruise for you. Small ship with not much to do!!! A missed docking into Lanzarote also extended our ‘at sea’ days which was disappointing. Would nor recommend 35 days on this ship if this is all the entertainment they can provide. !!!!!!
It makes me laugh when some people put bad reviews about p & o and yet their cruises are very good, and I don't listen to what people write, I cannot fault them as they are clean and food and entertainment js very good, it's that good that we are going on another cruise on ventura in April 2020.
