Ventura ReviewsView Cruise Deals
Our first cruise with P&O but was very disappointed in their level of service. Most Staff were not attentive, smiley or customer focused. Ship was clean and well cared for. Food was ok, not wonderful but adequate. Boarding was quick and well organised.
just come back from a weeks cruise on The Ventura. Great ship. Lovely balcony cabin in a great location on Lido deck. Good food in restaurant and buffet. Only gripe is that although the casino clearly stated on the doors..No one under the age of 18 allowed, there were several children ( 5-13) in there. On a couple of nights they were there until 1am in the morning. At one point when it was extremely busy, children were taking up the chairs meant for adults. Whilst I have nothing against children ( I have children of my own and grandchildren) a casino wasn't the place for them. Not blaming the children...Its the parents that don't take any notice of the rules. There were great kids clubs for all ages of children right up to 2am. The entertainment was very good, plenty of variety shows, quizzes and games on deck. Tours were a little disappointing. Amsterdam was a 40 minute journey away and once there our guide gave us wrong information of how to get into the city centre and then more wrong information as to where we picked up the coach for the return journey back to the ship. Visit to the tulip fields was amazing. Would go there again. It's truly beautiful, but of course we chose the right month to go. Brugges was a shuttle bus. train ride and a 20 minute walk away, so didn't get there. Wasn't going to pay £140 for 4 of us to be taken into Brugges and still do the 20 minute walk when getting dropped of. Had someone with a disability with us, so walking for him was out of the question. We got the shuttlebus into Blankeberge had had a thoroughly good time there. The ship couldn't dock in Gurnsey because of weather conditions, so we had an extra day at sea. All in all though we all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely go back on Ventura.
Good cruise. Shame about the weather that we couldn't dock in oporto. Maybe another port can be recommended if this happens again. Made it feel like we were constantly at sea.
Check in a nightmare due to some problem with previous cruise disembarkation. Great cabin, a deluxe balcony on deck 8. Plenty of room for the two of us. Food was much better this time than on the last two cruises with P&O. We only use the dining room on Freedom Dining and the waiters were excellent, no matter which table we ended on. The shows were very good especially the Magic Show; what a change to the normal "songs from the shows" type offering. The weather could have been better, a shame we had to stay in Lisbon due to a strong swell and miss out Oporto. Better to be safe than sorry though! Have been on Ventura before and this seemed much better generally than before. Thanks to Iglu for offering us great service again.
Had a fab cruise on Ventura to Vigo, Lisbon overnight as Porto was cancelled & St Peters Port.
A lovely ship welcoming staff great food entertainment was very good and daily talks very informative, we enjoyed the itenery all in all a good time
great trip but a complete disaster at end. Took two hours stood in a queue to disembark. 4th april
Once again P&O done a great job looking after me everyone polite and food great. Illuminati made it easy booking first class and info spot on. Will definitely use them again. Thank you.
Really enjoyed this cruise - we chose it because of it's itinerary & price. The crew excelled, particularly the dining room staff. We have done around 10 -12 cruises to date with various other cruise lines, many of them more expensive & luxurious, but this was just basic 12 day Canaries cruise with balcony option which ticked all our boxes.
