I went on a cruise to Norwegian fjords on 29/08/15. The  weather was a little indifferent as expected except from the andalnes where we had a beautiful day. The trip to the Rauma railway must be considered a highlight of the trip. Britannia is a very beautiful ship with plenty of space for the passengers. it was a pity that the embarkation was spoilt by parking difficulties. The north sea on the return was pretty bad, but even with a 5/6 metre swell the ship behaved superbly and there was minimal discomfort to passengers. All in all this was a pretty great trip

This was our thirteenth cruise with p&o, so obviously we have previous ships to compare with, we always go for the larger family ships we feel its a better atmosphere. Firstly cabin good size very clean had problems with next doors toilet kept blocking and I do mean daily sometimes 2/3 times so they would turn our water supply off until fixed it. Food in all areas very good I would say improvement since our last cruise in february, the service our cabin steward was really good and helpfull, main restaurant excellent service, the bar staff, not sure what was wrong they really did have long faces, They had a manager following them round with an even longer face having to tell them to move empty glasses etc never seen this before Also entertainment I have always praised Neil Oliver before cruised numerous times with him as cruise director was not sure what has happened if its cut backs or what, most artist now on in theatre but no drinks service, some good shows and artists, the live lounge was sick of same group pulse night after night to be honet the lads were ok when it was the girls oh my god they screeched but apparently the original singers were on leave, it took three days to build a stage around pool for show this was fantastic but only lasted half hour then that was it, they should have brought rest of artists onto outside stage. All in all not enough artists on then we got told a company now have taken over providing artists and saying how many artists we have Please go back to letting Neil organise things all in all good holidays on azura next week so hopefully things haven't changed to much on there. Also ÂŁ5 automatic gratuity daily is to much go bak to who deserves it gets treated well.

Went on Britannia on 15th Aug for a fortnight round the Med. Had read various mixed reviews prior to our holiday. We have been on over 10 cruises, 8 with P&O. We really enjoyed this cruise. For the whole fortnight, our only complaint was the lack of a cerntral staircase. The food was absolutely wonderful, the staff were helpful and polite, the cabins were very modern, the shower was double the size of previous bathrooms, the entertainment was varied and enjoyable, going ashore by tender was executed with "military precision". Well done, P&O. Really couldn't fault it at all. It appears that the "moaning minnies" always delight in finding fault with anything. It seems as though they resent spending money. As for the people who find fault with the food, I really think they are of the mind that cordon bleu means fries, coke and a big Mac in a blue box! Please disregard the negative reviews, it was lovely.

Have just taken a BRITANNIA cruise to Norway. Extremely enjoyable time with many positive aspects. Everything is priced in sterling, no service charge is added to the bill.there are many types of good British beer and the staff are exceptional. However, you must remember the three rules. Go nowhere near the computer room for online activity Stay well away from the spa, where highly priced treatments have a further 10% added and the prices are not always As you see in the room. Keep well away from the company organised excursions, they are are just too over priced. Apart from that , the experience is very good.

This was a fabulous cruise, the ship is amazing. It is big but surely you know this when you book. We had an inside cabin B deck 15 it was by far the biggest inside we have stayed in, everything is clean and brand new. As usual the crew were fabulous nothing too much trouble. The 2 weeks we were on the ship was the same time Strictly  Come were on. I loved every minute, meeting the Strictly Dancers Aliash, Janette, Kevin and Karen. The second week was Camilla and Ian Waite they all performed brilliant dancing shows and helped with those who wanted to learn. To sum up if you want a fantastic 5* floating hotel then book the Brittania tomorrow.

This was our first ever cruise so therefore we have nothing to compare it to. Having been interested in a cruise for sometime we decided to book it for the August 2014 to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary this year. Britannia was not completed when we booked it but after it's launch we became a little concerned because of the mixed reviews and negative comments she received. So for anyone who as never sailed on Britannia this review is for you ! Firstly I would like to cover the areas that most complaints were directed. Lifts : There are 18 lifts in total. 6 forward, 6 midships and 6 aft that hold 18 people and the most we ever waited was 2 - 3 minutes. The complaints about waiting for lifts are groundless in our opinion. After all, one is supposed to be on holiday, what's the rush. The Theatre: I will agree the theatre is on the small size for the size of the ship but having said that there are 3 performances each night, 7-30, 8-30 and 10-30. We mainly attended either of the two earlier shows and never queued once to get in as some people had claimed. We arrived as late as 10 minutes before the performance and still found good view seats. Cinema: We would agree that the seating is not banked enough, so if you do not want to see heads and shoulders on the bottom of the screen you need to be on the front row. We do think some more thought should of gone into the seating design. Politeness of Staff: Some people made negative comments regarding the on board staff/crew. I would underline every member of staff we came in contact with, went out of their way to be polite especially our cabin steward Oliver (deck 11) and the staff in Sindhu's and the Epicurean Restaurant whom were brilliant. Plus points: Embarkation and Disembarkation: Very smooth and well organised Dining: No complaints at all, we would say excellent in fact ! The choice in the Horizon Restaurant for breakfast is great. Self service buffet supplying: fresh fruit, smoothies, fresh fruit juice, tea coffee, cereals, yoghurt's, grilled food, freshly prepared omelets with your choice of filling. etc, etc. We overheard one lady say 'she could not find anything she liked for breakfast'. Where do these people come from ? Excursions: Excellent. We loved Monte Carlo, Rome and Florence and the guides were first class. Cabin: very nice, small balcony but this was not an issue. More draw space would of been nice. Entertainment: Over all very good, with a good variety of acts. Bars: Something for everyone. Sail Away Deck Party from Gibraltar: Absolutely BRILLIANT. Unashamed Patriotism ! Minus Point: The main pool area is the family area and of course when you get a lot of children by a pool you will get noise. Accompanied by music from the DJ, it was far from a peaceful, relaxing place. But it is not that we do not tolerate children, we have 2 grown up children and we were aware that Britannia is a family ship. There is an adults only pool area on board - Serenity, which nice and quite. But our complaint was the family area had two heated Jacuzzi's but we could never get in these because the children 'filled' them. The only time we managed to use one was on a Port day when we decided to stay aboard when obviously a lot of families went ashore. We feel that a Jacuzzi should of been installed in the Serenity area as well. Usually I would not go into so much detail for an holiday review, but felt it necessary to supply anyone in two minds about sailing on Britannia what we experienced. Summing up: We had a wonderful time and Britannia will supply us with many memories for years to come. Would we sail on Britannia again ? Yes. Would we recommend Britannia ? Yes. Did we like Britannia ? Yes. The standard that P&O deliver has convinced us to cruise again - with P&O. Although we would try one of their other ships, purely to experience another ship and not because we did not like Britannia. All in all a fantastic experience - Thank you Britannia !

We have just returned from our Honeymoon on P & O's " flagship" the Britannia, after travelling on the Azura and Ventura we were really excited , such a shame from the moment we stepped on board , the ship is dull, the rooms are basic had a 1970's feel, grass green , grey and browns. The balconies are tiny compared to the other ships, the depth of a chair . The main dining restaurant's were lovely exceptional service and food, the buffett restaurant had a canteen feel to it , with no where to sit and some of the sitting area's were breakfast bars facing the wall. Our planned trip to the Glass House did not go ahead as it was opposite Costa and had a food court feel rather than an elegant bar, on sea days passengers were sitting in the bars with their Costa coffee's. I felt over dressed to be honest , I wasn't alone , on a black tie night a man wore a grey tracksuit and several men wore football shirts much to the disgust of fellow passengers, we made a complaint only to be told the restaurant Managers need to monitor the dress code. We did ask a member of staff what they thought of the ship , to be told "it's different" We called the Britannia a floating Benidorm , we walked around the ship three times on a sea day to get a lounger . P & O need to enforce the dress code regardless of the summer holiday season, the lifts broke down a few times . The entertainment was very good however for the Live Lounge was always busy and unless you arrived 40 minutes before a show it was standing room only. I was so sad as it was our honeymoon , if the ship is appealing to the mass market it needs to be advertised differently it lacks the elegance it portrays and if it was my first time with P&O I would not cruise again.

This ship was excellent. Lovely decor, most of all crew were lovely and so helpful. They went out of their way to help. We went to the spa and it was outstanding. The food was outstanding we tried every restaurant and we weren't disappointed. I met the food & beverage manager Michelle, she was lovely. We would definitely cruise on Britannia again, in fact look forward to it. Dont know why people moan about ship,we had a brilliant time!

We sailed around the British isles on britannia, never will I go on this ship again. We have cruised lots of times and this ship is awful. Too big, staff misrable, and it was as though they wanted to get as much money as possible from you, you paid for fine dining, the itinary through the day was abismal, the talks were all about beauty, how to use your iPad, arthuritus, oh! Lots in the same vein but of course at the end of the talk they tried to sell you the products. The wifi was very expensive, the beauty salon was very expensive.ÂŁ25 per day to use the sauna, ÂŁ5 a day to use the quiet deck, I could go on and on. This is not just my opinion, everyone we spoke to said they would not go on this ship again, not one person said they would return., and believe me they were a lot of serious cruisers on this ship.
