But in 1963, during the filming of John Huston's "Night of the Iguana," the sleepy town was invaded by reporters hoping to catch a glimpse of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, who were carrying on their illicit love affair -- and a tourist industry was born.

Day 1 of Land Tour – Salt Lake City

Arrive in Salt Lake City and transfer to your hotel where you will meet your Tour Director in the evening.

Day 2 of Land Tour – Salt Lake City – Moab

Spend the morning exploring Salt Lake City. Then travel to Moab, where the landscape is distinguished by thousand foot-deep canyons as well as snow-capped peaks. Moab’s unique combination of small town hospitality and beautiful scenery has made it one of the most sought after destinations in the Southwest.

Day 3 of Land Tour – Moab – Arches National Park – Canyonlands – Moab

Travel today to two of America’s most spectacular National Parks. The first stop, Arches National Park, is home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the awe-inspiring Delicate Arch, in addition to hundreds of soaring pinnacles and giant balanced rocks. This red rock wonderland will amaze you with it’s formations and inspire you with it’s most unique scenery. Then continue to Canyonlands National Park to explore the colour drenched landscape of sandstone eroded into hundreds of canyons, mesas and buttes by the forces of time and the Colorado River. This evening why not join an optional Jet Boat Float trip on the mighty Colorado River?

Day 4 of Land Tour – Moab – Capitol Reef – Bryce Canyon

Visit Capitol Reef National Park, a destination of extraordinary natural beauty established in 1937 to protect a unique geological feature. Continue to spectacular Bryce Canyon National Park, where a tour through a multi-coloured world of sandstone spires and pinnacles, “hoodoos”, will dazzle the eye. This evening, weather permitting, gaze up to the spectacular night sky.

Day 5 of Land Tour – Bryce Canyon – Lake Powell – Grand Canyon National Park – Flagstaff

Travel to stunning Lake Powell, where crystal blue water laps against towering red rock canyon walls. After crossing the Colorado, enter the Navajo Indian Reservation and drive through the Painted Desert via Cameron Trading Post. Arrive at Grand Canyon National Park, one of the 7 great natural wonders of the world. Stop at the rim to fully experience this mile-deep colourful canyon’s plunging gorges and rising spires formed by the mighty Colorado River. Tonight will be in nearby Flagstaff.

Day 6 of Land Tour – Flagstaff – Seligman/Route 66 – Las Vegas

Descend the high Coconino Plateau into the Mojave Desert. Along the way, pass through Seligman, a town built along famed Historic Route 66 that looks as if it were frozen in time 60 years ago. Then it’s onward to Las Vegas, the dazzling “Entertainment Capital of the World.” Free time this evening allows you to experience the sights and sounds of this wonderland first hand.

Day 7 of Land Tour – Las Vegas

Enjoy time at leisure or transfer to the airport for your onward/return flight, depending on your package.

This was my first cruise. I'm 59 and I was among the youngest on board. Not many peers to hang with. The food was horrible. I can't wait to get off so I can eat a good meal. We had to eat in the steakhouse at $60 for both of us to get a decent meal. They say their pizza is award winning (best on a cruise). Trust me....no way. The cheese is bad, bad, bad. I'm from Phila and that's NOT a good pizza. I don't eat a lot of meat. So I ended up having Fettuccini Alfredo almost every night. The only good dish the chef made was his pasta with tomatoe sauce. My boyfriend is a chef of 40 years and will eat a wide range of foods. He's been on 3 other cruises and thought the food was very dissappointing. Won't sail them again. I starved!!!!!!!!!

Just back from Norwegian fjords cruise on Pacific Princess, it was fabulous. The ports of call, all the fjords and right up to Svalbard and the Northern Cape were fascinating, but best of all were the crew and the ship -definitely the best in the fleet.
