Day 1 of Land Tour – Los Angeles
Enjoy the day at leisure exploring the local area. This evening meet your tour director.
Day 2 of Land Tour – Los Angeles – Palm Springs – Phoenix
Today drive to Palm Springs, with its lively downtown and immaculately kept golf courses at the base of the rugged San Jacinto Mountains. The entrance to this desert oasis is laid out with a sea of wind turbines. Afterwards, pass through Indio, home to the International Date Festival in the Coachella Valley. Spend tonight in Phoenix, Arizona.
Day 3 of Land Tour – Phoenix – Sedona – Grand Canyon
Travel through the Sonoran Desert, the richest, most biologically diverse desert ecosystem in the Americas. Arrive in Sedona, a city situated in a unique geological area and is encircled by distinctive red-rock monoliths with such names as Cathedral and Coffee Pot. Continue through through the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon before arriving at Grand Canyon National Park. One of the natural wonders of the world the Grand Canyon National Park is blessed with stunning vistas. Stop at the East side to admire this mile deep gorge to the Colorado River.
Day 4 of Land Tour – Grand Canyon – Monument Valley – Page/Lake Powell
Today, enter the Navajo Indian Reservation, passing the trading post of Cameron. Continue through the Painted Desert to visit Monument Valley, an area that embodies perhaps the most iconic images of the American West. In the late afternoon, arrive at the town of Page, situated on a mesa above the Colorado River. The evening is at leisure.
Day 5 of Land Tour – Page/Lake Powell – Kanab – Bryce Canyon
Visit the mighty Glen Canyon Dam, the second highest concrete-arch dam in America. From here enjoy views of stunning Lake Powell, where the water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls. Enter the Mormon state of Utah, pass through the town of Kanab before visiting spectacular Bryce Canyon, where a tour through a multi-coloured world of sandstone spires and pinnacles will dazzle. This evening, subject to weather conditions, be sure to gaze upon the spectacular night sky filled with stars and brilliant constellations.
Day 6 of Land Tour – Bryce Canyon – Zion – Las Vegas
Arrive in Zion National Park to see the massive rock formations carved by wind, time and the Virgin River. This afternoon arrive in the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’, Las Vegas.
Day 7 of Land Tour – Las Vegas
Today is at leisure for you to enjoy the many attractions that Las Vegas has to offer. In addition to world class shopping, bustling casinos, and Broadway-style shows, you might simply stroll the famous Strip taking in its amazing sights and sounds, or ‘shop ‘til you drop’ at designer outlets.
Day 8 of Land Tour – Las Vegas – Mojave Desert – Los Angeles
There is a quick stop at the iconic Las Vegas Welcome Sign for photographs and memories. Travel to Los Angeles via the Mojave Desert, home of the world’s tallest thermometer. Clusters of unique Joshua trees dot the mountainous landscape. Please Note that some Alaska cruises will neccessitate in flying from Las Vegas to your embarkation city. Your tour ends upon arrival in Los Angeles.
