Our first cruise. Stateroom with port hole was perfectly fitted. Staff very good everywhere. Room service OK (but forgot our order once). The destinations truly great. Dubrovnik was wonderful (use the ships shuttle bus USD 12 each), Athens was fine (use the hop on hop off bus to get around all the sites Euro 20 each). Ephesus tour was truly magnificient but not sure of the carpet selling experience. Split our favourite was truly outstanding (tender from ship). Free style cruising was good but we ate early to avoid the crowds. Food was very very good, the buffet in the Great Outdoors (note this is not actually outdoors) was varied and plentiful. No need to use the speciality restuarants if you do not want to. The only restuarant to let the whole ship down was the Blue Lagoon which was pretty awful (cheap burgers etc.). The entertainment was second-rate (although we enjoyed a couple of the minor events such as 'Who wants to be a millionnaire' and 'Battle of the sexes' but the major theatre shows were not very good (with the exception of the comedy violin players). The last finale show was just more of the same stuff. Pool side is far too crowded (only space for 2 inches between sunlongers) with not enough space or sun loungers for everyone). We do not know if this is supposed to be a luxury cruise or a casual one, but if the later then it is OK. The cruise director is everywhere (you simply cannot avoid him) and so full of himself that one of the entertainment events is to hear him hark on about his past showbusiness career - no thank you. The drinks are very very expensive (no wonder they were confiscating booze galore for returning day trippers). The destinations make this cruise special though - if the Jade could sort out its entertainment and space for lounging around this it would be much better (and perhaps not have music blaring absolutely everywhere). Because of this experience, we will wait a few more years before we consider cruising again.

Just returned from a wonderful cruise around the Greek Islands and the Dalmation Coast. The Jade is a free dining ship which we found most convenient and the food is excellent, we used the Grand pacific resturaunt most of the time. All the staff were most helpful and friendly. Drink prices were a little expensive but not overly so. The main problem being the 15 percent gratuity charge on all purchases even though a compulsory £100 per person prepaid graturity fee had been charged, however we would certainly cruise with NCL again

How dissapointed we were having sailed with NCL Dawn in March 2012, from a 9 out of 10 to a 5 out of 10. It was like chalk and cheese. The ship just didn't seem big enough to cope with the number of passengers on board. Came home very disallusioned with NCL and stressed out instead of chilled. Meal times were a nightmare trawling up and down looking for a table. Evening meals were worse with a waiting time of 30 to 40 mins the norm. Everywhere we turned people were very dissatisfied with the cruise. Cleanliness and food quality superb and the staff were so busy that the customer service fell down. Attention to detail was just not there. If this was our first cruise we would never of gone back for another one. The two days at sea were even worse with not enough sunbeds for even half of the people on board, state of some of them left a lot to be desired. The dining areas were total madness and not a pleasure to be in at all. Tendering was a nightmare waited over two hours to get off the ship, told us that tickets would be distributed at 9:00, arrived at 10 to 9 to find huge queues and lots of ticket already distributed. Came back from cruise more stressed out than when we boarded.

Just got back from a fourteen night cruise on the Norwegian Jade and loved it but for some reason I thought we were going to dock in Split? which I was so looking forward to......but the last port was Izmir :-( and then followed by two days at sea, so due to this fact I would have been happy to disembark after eleven days .......This cruise is defo for young children and people that are not into dressing for dinner.....other than that I cannot fault it....I won't be going on another Freestyle cruise now I know what it means but will put it down to experience......I am not a grunge futtock but am telling it like it is! :-/ ....Food was second to none! .....Alcohol was more expensive than P&O and Costa Lines.....Swings and roundabouts I guess! But I will try another line next time......so far P&O are tops....My tip is that you thoroughly Check your cruise details over and over not to be disappointed.........Enjoy your cruise!

Just returned from cruise around Canaries in march on board Jade, lovely cruise, food excellent, staff wonderful, entertainment very good. Ship is kept very clean in all the public spaces and on deck the beds and seting areas are also very clean. The kids entertainment as told to me by a very clever 10 yr old was Fantastic, kids club was best on any cruise line she had been on   All in all Jade was a great cruise looking to go back in september with my grand kids for the Adriatic fruise. Well done NCL and Jade

Enjoyed the Jade so much in 2011, we have booked the same cruise again for June 2012. We had several good cruise trips on the Ocean Village freestyle ships and were worried who next to cruise with for the freestyle way and thankfully found NCL were the ones to take over and boy what a fantastic two weeks we had. Well done NCL, keep freestyle cruises on your itinerary.

We attended the Norwegian Jade and we loved it. The whole decor was themed around Hawaiian Islands, such as Bali Hai bar and Waikiki beach pool. This ship is not for people who enjoy dressing up in tux and formal evening dress, as it is a more casual atmosphere, so just dress smart causal will be fine. We loved the Spinnaker Lounge as it has aquatic themes with swimming fish and ocean decor.
