Norwegian Jade Reviews
View Cruise DealsJust back from 10 days on Norwegian Jade. Went to Istanbul . 1 ship a bit dated now but clean. 2 crew IE waiters bar staff etc all very nice and polite. 3 on board drinks very expensive and shopping on board expensive. 4 ship tours ridiculously expensive don't book do your oun thing save a fortune . No free shuttle to town or port gate you got to pay. 5 I would only use this company again if they were going somewhere I couldn't get with another line. 6 if you are siverlised and like to look smart for dinner don't book as dressing for dinner is clean jeans and sweat shirt.
Staff and service fantastic; very good food, especially considering numbers catered for; comfortable cabin. Excursions VERY expensive so we organised ourselves. Wifi connection ridiculously expensive in this day and age - gave feeling of rip-off, contrary to rest of experience.
Just returned first time with NCL many pluses and a few minuses. Mini suite with balcony excellent. Choices for musical entertainment very good if not too varied, shows of a high quality. Choice of dining good with additional speciality restaurant's with reasonable extra charges. The cost of all drinks, internet, tours very expensive. Open dining not that successful, different waiters every meal too impersonal. Friendliness of officers poor and consistency of staff training too varied.
Just returned from a lovely cruise on the Norwegian Jade. Good itinerary and good overall experience. Everything ran well. Too high drinks prices and too high service charges otherwise very happy.
A regular cruiser, but this was the first time with NCL. A little apprehensive to start, but have to say, the ship was so much better than anticipated, very easy to get around, plenty of bars and restraunts (food excellent) Warmed quickly to freestyle cruising and while I like more formal cruises would certainly sail with NCL again, probably a bigger ship in the Caribbean. Cruise itinary was good, weather was ok for the end of October. All in all a very pleasurable experience.
Just returned from our one week cruise to the Eastern Med onboard Norwegian Jade. Many thanks to all crew and staff who were friendly and helpful but never pushy. Our stateroom was kept pristine for us by our steward Sherwin and apart from bumping my head a few times on the slightly overhanging bunk bed we found it compact but comfortable. We went on four excursions all of which we enjoyed , although the time in port at Corfu was disappointingly short. We were especially impressed with our guides at Delos and Olympia. Both spoke good english and were very knowledgeable. The guide on our tour in Santorini was very nice but struggled with the language sometimes. We found embarkation, disembarkation and transfers etc handled smoothly and efficiently. We were a little sad that our transfer to the airport for our homeward journey meant we had five hours waiting at the airport when we would have loved a couple of hours more in Venice but c'est la vie! The only criticism I want to make concerns the food. Most of it was of a good standard with plenty of choice but sometimes it fell below the high standards I' m sure the chefs try to maintain. The moussaka I chose midweek was extremely salty and made me feel quite ill. On the last night of our cruise we paid the extra cover charge to dine in Le Bistro but the salmon I chose for my main course was heavily sprinkled with salt and I couldn't finish it but even without this problem I would have been disappointed with the meagre and unexciting plateful. My husband enjoyed his meal but overall we expected a little more for the extra charge. Earlier in the week however we had eaten at The Jasmine Garden and enjoyed the food and ambiance. So on the whole we would give the ship and its staff full marks but with some reservations over the food.
Staff, food and staterooms were all excellent. There was the occasional waiting at peak times for the main restaurants and the entertainment was repetitive mainly magic and illusions.
Just back from our first ever cruise - also our first holiday without our children for 20 years and it would be hard to over praise the ship, the crew and the whole experience. We started from Venice but had booked late so ended up with a private car transfer to the ship, walked through customs to find our driver waiting and 20 minutes later we began the boarding process which whilst took about 25 minutes. A quick dash to the stateroom to drop off our hand luggage (our bags weren't there yet) but by the time we had collected our caps and cork sticker (well worth doing if you like a drink) and went back to the stateroom our bags had arrived. A quick change and up on deck to sit in the sun and then watch the sail out of Venice which is incredible. The food onboard was excellent, we ate at all of the inclusive restaurants at one time or another and also tried Teppanyaki on my wife's birthday and Moderno on our wedding anniversary. Drinks are quite expensive so the corks and caps package was well used (prosecco was $9/glass), I must say they had an excellent selection of beers onboard ranging from Red Stripe, Bud, Molson, Heineken + others to Newcastle Brown + draft beers. Destination wise Dubrovnik and Split are lovely, Athens was interesting as was Kusadasi. Thoroughly recommend.
Our trip was around the Med in November 2013. The ship was excellent and could not be faulted. Although the weather was not the best as we encountered the edge of the cyclone that hit Sardinia she was stable and comfortable. The evening entertainment in the Stardust was worthy of a west end show. The food was of a very high standard and easily accessible at the times we wanted. Particularly impressed by the attention to hygiene ensuring that all passengers used antibacterial before entering the eating areas. I would thoroughly recommend.
This is a review related to the NCL Jade. The cruise itself was great, very good quality of service and food, although we were charged for daily tips, per person. The only thing I didn’t really like was the excursions. It was purely lucky we had some excursions in Portuguese. This was my 6th cruise, and some places I re-visited because I was travelling with my parents, and I could see the guides and excursions were very bad quality, and very pour cultural information. The Ephesus, he run for everything with not enough time to see the beauty and cultural knowledge of the place. The lunch time was 20 min and not enough for everyone, and in the end… a stupid and unnecessary visit to a place that sold leather jackets! Seems a joke. I would recommend they review the excursions, because although the ship is stunning, I would prefer another company that can show me the cultural side and not visiting places with no history. Another example was the visit to Dubrovinick, we purely lost time. This is in very good faith to avoid future disappointment from other customers.
