Summary:  There was a 20 minute shuttle bus ride into town from the cruise terminal, where Oceana was docked. La Rochelle is a lovely bustling fishing port & seaside town, with plenty to explore during your day ashore. I wandered around the historic harbour with it's seafood restaurants and explored the old town wall and towers. There are plenty of shops for good quality souvenirs and where you can treat yourself to Breton clothing, lace and food specilities. Moules frites washed down with a glass of the local cider, while overlooking the harbour were a perfect lunchtime treat.

Summary:  Really enjoyed my holiday on Oceana. Even though she's 12 years old, she's still looking good, with beautifully decorated public areas and excellent service. Cabins, are compact but very comfortable. Really enjoyed a meal in Marco Pierre White's Bistro for just an £11 supplement. The buffet offered great food throughout the day, including delicious afternoon tea and themed buffets. The Yacht and Compass English Pub was extremely popular in the evenings as was the contemporary Winners bar. There were four pools on deck — so plenty of spaces for relaxing and sunbathing. A very friendly atmosphere on board this family friendly ship.

Summary:  A beautiful historic city with so much to do. I explored the shops, and then strolled around the beautiful old town, and along one of the many rivers running through the city. Then a quick visit to the parliament building and art gallery which was fascinating. There are water taxis and tours making it easy to explore all the islands or you can enjoy a hop on/hop off bus tour from your cruise ship. Beautiful building and a stunning city.

What our customers say

"I booked a Fred Olsen cruise with IGLU last month and was so impressed by the service I received. The staff member I spoke to was Kimberley and she was exemplary. Capable, kind, professional, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. She went through every step of the way calmly and thoroughly. IGLU were recommended to me by friends and I have no hesitation in passing the recommendation along. Well done IGLU and thank you. "

"So easy to deal with, I studied the Cruise I wanted, did my research with different company's and returned to Iglu. I had three quotes matching Iglu’s cost, but with one phone call they beat the price themselves by £40 without me even asking, how easy was that! "
