The most luxurious cruise ship in the world, Regent Seven Seas Explorer has now had the royal seal of approval during a lavish christening ceremony in Monte Carlo this week.
Godmother Princess Charlene of Monaco blessed
Regent Seven Seas Cruises newest ship by blowing a kiss before smashing a bottle of champagne at the ceremony.
The Princess of Monaco expressed her joy at being honoured with the title of Godmother to the RSS Explorer and also her partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings working towards water safety and protecting aquatic environments.
Guests present at the dazzling christening ceremony in Monte Carlo were also treated to a 40 minute concert from world famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
Raising the bar for luxury cruise travel, Frank del Rio – Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings President and CEO announced “We have already begun a massive $125million refurbishment effort to ensure every ship in our fleet matches the luxury standard found on Explorer, and will introduce a sister-ship in 2020.”
