The largest ship to ever be based in the Gulf Coast has made berth at the Port of Galveston, Texas.
Voyager of the Seas, a
Royal Caribbean Cruises vessel is to be based in Texas for the winter season and will sail to locations in the Caribbean, South America and Mexico.
Among the ports that
Voyager of the Seas will call at on its seven-day sailings are Cozumel, Costa Maya, Yucatan, Roatan, Honduras, Montego Bay, Jamaica, George Town and Grand Cayman.

Steven M Cernak, Port Director at Galveston added that 2006 saw 617,000 cruise passengers travel through the port, making it the Gulf Coast's "most popular cruise port".
Royal Caribbean Cruises was built in Finland and took her maiden voyage in 1999.
