Carnival Cruises has made history after one of its fleet became the largest passenger ship to pass under the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The
Sun Princess, measuring forty nine metres above the water line and weighing 77,441 tonnes', made her record-breaking journey under the bridge with about two-and-a-half metres to spare.
Meanwhile, passengers enjoying a cruise holiday aboard the
Sun Princess were able to enjoy the sights of Darling Harbour as the vessel docked there before sailing back under the bridge for Brisbane.
"Not only has Sun Princess set a new record by becoming the largest cruise ship to sail under Sydney's iconic bridge, she'll also set a new standard for cruising in Australia by offering a premium cruise experience for Australians year-round," commented Ann Sherry of
Carnival Cruises.
The
Sun Princess is now destined for cruises to New Zealand, Alaska, Russia, China and Japan.
Passengers travelling onboard this vessel can enjoy 24-hour complimentary room service, a spa and gymnasium, three pools and six whirlpool spas.
