The newest addition to the
Princess Cruises fleet has been welcomed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Under a stream of ruby-coloured water sprayed from escorting fireboats, the
Ruby Princess sailed into port ahead of several days of launch celebrations.
The festivities will culminate in the naming of the boat, which will be dutifully conducted by Trista and Ryan Sutter of reality TV show the Bachelorette.
Meanwhile, a loving couple will also be married during the naming ceremony, which Princess claims is an industry first.
"The romantic events continue as Princess hosts a "Ruby Red Tie" gala to celebrate the naming of its new ship, followed by a two-night preview cruise for hundreds of VIP guests," Princess explains.
Onboard, passengers will be able to take a romantic stroll through the piazza-style atrium, which is complete with bistros and street performers.
Later on in the evening, couples and singles alike will be able to enjoy the fine dining experience offered at Sabatini's Italian restaurant or the Crown Grill steak and seafood restaurant.
