Princess Cruises'fleet enjoyed a star-studded christening in the US last week, presided over by Trista and Ryan Sutter, stars of hit TV show The Bachelorette.
Ruby Princess was christened before hundreds of VIP guests who will now enjoy a special two-night cruise, allowing them to preview the ship's new facilities.
As well as christening the Ruby Princess, guests also attended the wedding of a Californian couple who won the opportunity to tie the knot during the launch ceremony.
Commenting on the day's events, Alan Buckelew, Princess Cruises president and chief executive officer, said: "Its only fitting that as the most romantic cruise line in the industry, we celebrate the naming of our newest ship with a tribute to romantic milestones.
"It was exciting to have Trista and Ryan Sutter serve as godparents of Ruby Princess and of course the wedding during the ceremony added an appropriate touch to the festivities."
The 3,080-passenger Ruby Princess will embark on her maiden voyage later this month, with sailings to the western Caribbean.
