The Orient Queen has been acquired on a five-year bareboat/hire purchase agreement and if things go well in the first six months, Louis Cruise Lines has the option to purchase the ship outright.

The luxury cruise ship underwent significant refurbishment work to the value of $22 million (?11.6 million) in 2005 and this would be the cost to Louis if it chose to purchase the liner.

Orient Queen is an 850-passenger ship that has 370 spacious cabins onboard. In addition to the in-cabin comfort provided by the likes of plasma TVs, passengers will also find three swimming pools onboard as well as a number of Jacuzzis.

A heliport, a health centre and a beauty salon join a number of restaurants and lounges and a fantastic casino onboard to provide a truly entertaining and memorable experience for passengers.

The ship joins the likes of Calypso in the Louis Cruise Lines stable.
