Royal Caribbean Cruises' was proclaimed Best Luxury Cruise Operator at an awards ceremony in Shanghai last week.
The cruise line was honoured with the title at the seventh annual Travel Weekly China Industry Awards, in acknowledgement of its continued contribution to the country's tourism sector, cruisetalk.org reports.
China country manager for Royal Caribbean Cruises Eve Lu is quoted by the website as saying: "This is a great achievement for us to receive this award, after our first year of service in Asia.
"This is a testament to the high service standards that Royal Caribbean is well-known for, onboard our ships and in our operations throughout Asia, especially in China."
The cruise company began operating out of Shanghai in July 2007 with the liner Rhapsody of the Seas.
A second ship, Legend of the Seas, will be added to the company's proposed Asian fleet in December 2008, sailing from Singapore.

Oasis of the Seas, currently under construction, will be ready for her sailing debut in one year's time.
